25.01.2022 Wash your hands, allow more space between people, cough or sneeze with better manners. But also let stress go, retain humour in your life, eat as clean as you can with fresh vegies and fruit plus make a note for yourself to find things to be grateful for. And perhaps smile and say hi to anyones eye that you catch. ... One last thing - if you are due for a checkup with your GP or have a concern - get it done. It is safe to come in - and it may save your life. Or it may be nothing to worry about.

20.01.2022 This is "Donate Life Week". Tissue and organ donation can give someone a whole new life. To donate, you need to register AND tell your family you want to be a donor. This simple act could save the lives of up to seven people needing an organ transplant, and many more who may need eyes or tissue. Please share this post, because each person who registers as a donor (and tells their family) - can generate a massive helping hand for people who could really do with one.... 15.01.2022 Some interesting weather coming this year.
15.01.2022 Remember to have some chill time. All the drama and continual uncertainty can increase our baseline stress levels. Take time to take a breath, go for a walk, or do whatever balances you (physical activity is usually good. ) Avoid TV news and constant updates for a while. If you drink alcohol mix in some alcohol free days. Alcohol does not lower physical stress, it just lowers your sensitivity so you notice it less for a while. Go outside! Sunshine is needed fo...r vitamin D production, but it also is vital for keeping our hormones functioning. (Dont get sunburnt - but get some sun in the morning or afternoon. ) Oh - as a final nag - eat some fruit and some green veggies every day. Give your gut bacteria some quality fuel, they will reward you. But mostly, remember stop now and then, open the top of your head, and let your stress flow out like an oil rig striking oil.

11.01.2022 There is a fair bit of negative news in the press right now. Some of it is telling us that because of the disruption to cancer screening schedules - some people will not be diagnosed as early as they might have been. And thats not good. So - if you are overdue for a screen - or have ANY concerns about lumps, unusual poo, pains, rashes, spots - get it checked NOW. It is probably not a big deal - but if it is - then dont use COVID as an excuse to not get it checked early. ...Early is better. If you need a checkover - get a checkover! The Super Clinic is very safe. Make your appointment by calling 5315 8888 or online at: https://www.hotdoc.com.au//caboolture-QLD-4510/cab/doctors Here is the article: https://www.abc.net.au//202/cancer-costs-covid-19/12508230

11.01.2022 It is an interesting time to be alive right now. There is a lot of coverage of the virus, the case numbers, the masks and the repeated message to social distance, sanitize and keep our risk low. But it is also important to be sure to KEEP DOING IMPORTANT THINGS for our health. The video linked below is from the RACGP - and reminds us that checking out anything and everything for our health is still important. It is VITAL that you keep up with your health checks, your revi...ews, your prescriptions and also keep your head on straight so stress does not build up (in the face of all the scary stuff on TV). If you are due for a check-up, go ahead and have it. If you have a concern about a lump or a spot or or a change in bowel habits or a rash or ANYTHING - go ahead and get it checked out. Make your appointment and get it done! It is safe to visit your GP at Caboolture Super Clinic. Do not use the coronavirus as a reason to let something else cause you concern. If you are an existing patient - you can have a Telehealth consultation if you dont want to come in to the Super Clinic. (New patients to the clinic need to be seen in person before they can access bulk billed Telehealth GP Consults.) It is vital for you to keep up with your health checks, reviews, and immediately get things checked out that need checking out. No excuses - book online or call Reception on 5315 8888 for appointments. Hey - in other good news the Super Clinic Cafe has re-opened. Now it is call the Atrium Cafe - and has some really good food coming out! https://youtu.be/sTRHyPtGsyw

04.01.2022 ***Iron Infusions for Iron Deficiency Anemia are available at Caboolture Super Clinic.*** Iron Deficiency Anaemia is common among women aged from 14 to 60 years - but can occur in other groups. Symptoms can include: extreme fatigue, weakness, pale skin, chest pain, fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, cold hands and feet, inflammation or soreness of your tongue, brittle nails, unusual food cravings and poor appetite.... The most common way to address iron deficiency is to supplement with tablets or liquids (or iron rich foods). It is common for iron supplements to have side effects like nausea and constipation which makes it unsuitable for some people. It is also common for iron supplements to not be effective - and your iron levels remain low. Another option is to "infuse" an iron-rich solution into your veins. This is called "Intravenous (IV)" iron infusion. It is an effective way to deliver iron into your body, and most patients find improvements in their symptoms within a week or two of the infusion. You will need to have blood tests to determine your iron levels, to determine if an iron infusion is suitable for you. The first step is a consultation with our Infusion GP to arrange your blood tests. Find out more here: https://caboolturesuperclinic.com.au/iv-infusions/ Fees: GP Consultations with our Infusion GP are bulk billed. There is a Facility Fee of $110 for the Infusion, plus you will have to bring or purchase your iron solution. The first step is find out if this infusion is suitable for you - which means a consultation with our Infusion GP, Dr Heath. Call 5315 8888 for more information and to make an initial appointment.

02.01.2022 This is a slightly scary article from the ABC about the danger of deferring your medical checkups due to concerns about CV19. The message from the ABC is pretty direct: "Visiting your GP for your checkup is safer than going to your local supermarket." (And we will add that visiting your supermarket is pretty safe now too - but we are safer!) So - call Reception on 5315 8888 or book your appt online at https://www.hotdoc.com.au//caboolture-QLD-4510/cab/doctors... https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-medical-testi/12241812
