25.01.2022 As a result of our recent acquisition by the French engineering services company FIVA, we will start to roll out changes to our logo and branding. We are keeping the Cadgile name, and our contact details remain the same. So existing clients will retain all of their current points of contact. Exciting times!

22.01.2022 Cadgile supplies not only highly trained staff, but can include fully licensed software & hardware along with them to get the project moving. Cadgile were recently approached to provide a highly skilled Inventor operator on site for a client in the Manufacturing space. With all the clients own licenses utilized, Cadgile was not only able to quickly mobilise the perfect CAD operator, but they also turned up to the office the next day with PC & Inventor in hand. Just an example of the full end to end service Cadgile can provide its clients to give them maximum flexibility.

21.01.2022 We have been busy lately demonstrating our bespoke VR tool developed by our partner Kadego to various companies across S.A like Treasury Wine Estates, even France! Its a brilliant tool with applications for design reviews, virtual prototyping, safety assessment, training, planning, induction and maintenance. It really is a fundamental part of enabling Industry 4.0!!

20.01.2022 Nice to see our customer Dazz turn up with his beautiful Eyropro carbon fibre handlebars. We worked with him to produce the 3D modelling to allow him to perfect the shape to his design. 19.01.2022 We are very pleased to be invited to the BAE Hunter Class & Global Access Program Event at the Adelaide Convention Centre. In attendance for the two days will be Cadgile GM, Mr Gary McRae who will be joined by the Group Fiva General Manager, Mr Serge Boniface, who is over from France. 18.01.2022 Congratulations to engineering design firm, Kadego Pty Ltd, for joining us as sister companies of Groupe FIVA. Kadego was founded in 1999 and specialises in virtual reality product design and digitisation and will work collaboratively with us to offer a comprehensive Industry 4.0-enabling engineering design support capability to the market. This development will advance South Australias sovereign capability in engineering design support services and ultimately create a centre of excellence that can be promoted nationally and even internationally. 16.01.2022 Cadgile and its sister company Kadego have always been quick to adjust to changing conditions. And 2020 is testing that!! To continue to provide our customers with easy to access CAD and Engineering services, we have formed a virtual CAD office with all of our designers working from their home offices but networked. All the same systems and processes are in place to deliver fast, quality results. In addition to email and Skype we are also developing a remote VR viewing tool to enable any of our customers to make use of VR for design review but without the need for them to have their own VR equipment. Cadgile has worked with Hexpegs from its very inception, and has watched this innovative idea turn into reality. 11.01.2022 Cadgile would like to congratulate everyone involved in front, and behind the scenes who helped secure the headquarters for Australias new space agency. Drawing on an incredibly rich history starting with the launch of WRESAT from Woomera in 1967, making Australia the third nation in history to design and launch a satellite to orbit the earth! Cadgiles founder Gary McRae began his working career at the then DRCS (now DSTG) where the satellite was designed and built. What a fantastic outcome for S.A.. Well done all!

10.01.2022 With your design almost completed and already available as a full 3D model, its time to take it to the next level and experience a VR tour and review of the new facility. We recently had a demo given on a Virtual Reality set up in the Cadgile head office and the benefits were immediately obvious, giving the user a full virtual look at the design prior to committing to manufacture. Systems like this are a logical extension to the power of 3D CAD.

06.01.2022 The Three Tier Checking Process; - Is It Worth it? Typically drafting accounts for 5-8% of the total cost of a project but influences as much as 90% of the cost. Combine that with the massive costs that can be incurred in rectifying problems caused by inaccurate drawings and its easy to see why investing a little more in the quality of the drafting makes commercial sense. At Cadgile we allow 15% on all jobs to complete our internal 3 tier checking process. We are sometimes asked is this worth it? In our view you cant afford not to do it. The checking process is an integral part of the Cadgile way to ensure our clients receive accurate drawings, on time, every time. And in the end that helps make the project as cost effective as possible.

05.01.2022 Seeing this picture come up on our feed made us ponder how much CAD has evolved over time. So, we asked Cadgiles founder Gary McRae to write a few words on his personal history with CAD. Well I started drafting on the drawing board in 1985 after completing an apprenticeship at DSTG. I was one of the first handful of people in Australia to use AutoCAD, I started on release 2.1, and had to be self-taught. I instantly loved it, and could see how it would revolutionize the dra...wing process. Later, I was approached by Autodesk to be an alpha tester for the Mechanical Desktop 3D software. A platform I still have a soft spot for, it was just so powerful, which was its strength, but also could be a weakness. Later, Inventor came out and my initial impression was it was a little cumbersome. But it quickly developed into the powerful, and complete package it is today. I find it interesting to now see how the architectural community is adopting the 3D master model benefits with packages like Revit. Certainly in my working lifetime CAD has come a long way, and is still developing. Its now hard to imagine engineering without it! See more
