25.01.2022 Carers and Disability Link take pride and feel very privilege to be able to run events with meaning and purpose. Thank you to our Barossa Young Carer Support worker, Jeannine for organising this amazing experience for some Barossa Young Carers recently. This 'Bloom' retreat was a time for these Young Carers to focus on themselves, what is important to them, who is their support network and what makes them feel special. Thank you to all the businesses who made this retreat possible.

24.01.2022 It’s wonderful during the festive season to see community generosity shine through and especially after the turbulent year that many have experienced. A surprise visitor called into our Nuriootpa office and wanted to pay it forward to a client with a voucher from a local business. Mark received the voucher and was extremely surprised and appreciative of the kind gesture and we are sure that the local business was also apprecitative. Locals supporting Locals

Self Care is the foundation of managing your own life-long heath by focusing on your own health, sometimes difficult when we care for those with health needs. This day is a day for promoting and encouraging a healthy lifestyle and in 2020 this is more important then ever. 22.01.2022 Our Barossa Mental Health Carers enjoyed an evening at the Tanunda Hotel celebrating Christmas and the end of the year. Together with the person they care for in a fellowship group they enjoyed a delicious meal by the hotel. Sue B boosted the spirit of the night in her 'Xmas cats' outfit to give out Kris Kringle gifts. Thank you to CADL Carer support staff Anne and Bev for organising a fantastic night.

20.01.2022 Have you been missing our Carers and Disability Link OP Shop, Woodside? Our volunteers Henny and Steve, along with our Volunteer Coordinator Vicky are jumping for joy as the Woodside Op Shop will be open from Tuesday 14th of July!!! Mark it in your diary and come in and find yourself a bargain!! ... The shop will be following all COVID restrictions and guidelines to keep customers and volunteers safe.

20.01.2022 *We are available on the phone* Due to the current restrictions in SA and the 6 day lock down all of our office locations (Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, York Peninsula, Adelaide Plains, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu Pensinula and Riverland) are all currently closed. However, staff are working from home and available during normal work hours fro 9am to 5pm weekdays. Office phones are being diverted and the main number to call is 8562 4000. Our wonderful teams of Direct Care Servic...es, Plan Management, Support Coordinators and Carer Support staff are all available to support you the best we can. Direct Care staff have been and are still contacting Contractors and Clients to discuss services over the coming days. Please be patient and understanding. We will keep in touch over the coming days if restrictions change after the 6 day period. Please all keep safe, stay home unless you are an essential worker or needing an essential service and follow the advice to wear a mask if possible when leaving your home.

10.01.2022 If you live in the Barossa region or visiting this week, make sure you call into the The Barossa Co-op and look at all the fantastic items sewn and knitted by the local Country Stitchers group. They have will have their stall set up from today until Saturday. The ladies volunteer and catch up every Thursday to knit and sew. Country Stitchers kindly donate to help run the Carers & Disability Link Young Carer programme, so please support them if you can.

06.01.2022 Christmas cheer was everywhere at the Vine Inn Barossa as our CHSP (over 65 social and support) groups came together and celebrated Christmas with Barossa staff Gaby, Reta (our Angel), Bobb and Karen. 04.01.2022 A huge thank you to University of South Australia students Renee and Ali! These amazing ladies are 4th year OT students working on a community project for their studies. They had to change their project to fit with COVID restrictions and worked well with families from the Barossa community. The students worked with Karren, Sarah and Kate at Carers and Disability Link on creating a manual to use when having group activities for children aged between 5-12 with Autism. They created a very resourceful document with group facilitating plans, ideas and information. Today the manual was presented it to Vicki Willamson - our CADL CEO. We look forward to putting your manual into practice with local groups. We wish these ladies all the best with their studies and look forward to seeing them working in the community.

Carers and Disability Link was established as you see it today, because of the hard work of communities, workers and volunteers. The 1995 Steering Committee developed the philosophies, principles and objectives that we all know, recognise and work by today across all of our regions in the Barossa Valley, Cla...re Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu and Riverland.
