23.01.2022 Sooooo.... this exciting evening is this coming Friday! Why have I waited so long to share it on here you may ask? Well, because its been fully booked for the last 2 weeks before I even had time to get it onto Facebook. I even managed to get chefs to increase the numbers but we are still fully booked. However, I realised it was still important to show you what we are doing for this months dinner. They are becoming very popular; if you think youd like to come to the next one, you can always book in advance without waiting for the menu - trust me, it will be delicious whatever culinary theme it is!

We’ve recently had one barista go on mat leave, and another leave to work in a restaurant with evening shifts. We start this Sunday (26/7/20) with our very own Maddie! Not only is she one of our sweetest wait-staff, Madeleine Skye is a also young Brisbane-based singer songwriter. Her style is a smooth blend of folk and indie music. She has played at the cafe before as part of a duo. We are excited to welcome her back as a solo artist this weekend. 09.01.2022 As has always been the case since the beginning of this challenging situation, Cafe Lagarto has strictly adhered to all required COVID-safe guidelines. Owners and staff have been reading all relevant information, and doing all required training, so that we can play our part to keep you all safe, and keep our businesses up and running. It is easy to become complacent when things in our state seem to be going so well, but as the events of last week show us, this can change s...o quickly. It is super important to still be taking all the necessary steps, after all - imagine if those returned interstate travellers had lived on the North side of Brisbane instead of the south side? It could have been our cafe they visited on their return....imagine if we werent doing our very best to adhere to all the rules about social distancing (queues, spacing of tables), sanitising, numbers of patrons, provision of table service and collection of contact details....(yes, if you want to dine in, you MUST provide these. If you dont want to do it, then please dont choose to dine in). It both saddens and frustrates us when we become aware of other businesses, especially in the hospitality industry, who are not doing the right things. After having had a friend describe her concerning experience in another north Brisbane suburb today, where *none* of the rules were being followed when she went to dine out, I realised that, although some of you might be concerned when you see this happening, you (like her) might not be sure what to do about it. It was a plan of ours right from the beginning, we just had to wait for our liquor licence to come through. It’s been great to see them so well booked, and we look forward to continuing them for you next year

Sadly, and frustratingly, I am well aware of what other places arent doing but here is why we are.
