We love Australia for its traditions, acceptance, values and people. I am proud to be Australian. As many of you are aware, I run a successful Cafe2U Franchise located in Western Sydney. Although my business has been impacted by COVID-19, the business is still in operation (for which I am eternally grateful). My customers are unbelievably loyal, compassionate and simply put - wonderful human beings. Unfortunately my fellow Cafe2U Franchisors in Melbourne have had to contend with far greater challenges. Many of my friends that run similar businesses have suffered tremendously through this transition. COVID restrictions have inevitably reduced their ability to meet bare necessities considerably. Like so many others, they have suffered financial hardship due to current restrictions. Numerous business owners are on suicide watch, suffering depression and now unable to support their loved ones and children. Not everyone fulfills the criteria required to access government support. I have instigated this fund raiser to assist those I mention with some semblance of hope. Your token of charity (regardless of the value) will send these business owners a message of hope, certainty, love and resilience. When I am not preparing coffee early morning, I am a husband, Father, provider and carer. The responsibility of providing for and protecting your family extends beyond measure. My heart goes out to these beautiful people. You are not alone. Here in Western Sydney NSW I collaborate with a group of other successful Cafe2u Franchisors; namely St Marys, Penrith, South Penrith and myself (Emu Plains/Blue Mountains). 05.01.2022 I am so overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. All of us are doing it tough be it financially or psychologically. The general climate is one of caution and being apprehensive. Your contributions have been very kind and generous. We are nearly at 4K. Every day I make calls, sms and plead with customers to donate or share the page. Thank you for listening and understanding that my approach is coming from a genuine heartfelt place, after liaising with some of these poor Melbourn...e souls who can barely afford any food or basic amenities for their children and families. Those who know me on the coffee run will know that my first stop is at Emu Plains Railway Station from 510am to 745am. I used to make min 60-90 coffees every morning prior to 8am, and before Covid. I am doing five maybe ten. That equates to a loss of about $400 per day. My customers are amazingly loyal. Thank you. I will never forget this loyalty. Even though I have taken a financial hit there are so many people who I see every day walking past at the railway, consumed in their own worlds/their own misery. As all of you know me to be ‘Mr Have A Chat’ I love people. I love my customers (most unless you are one of the inconsiderate types who has seen my other side). No apologies here. Some of these people who are so sad have far more challenges than my blessed life. They are losing jobs, have limited funds, and have all sorts of personal challenges. Every day I realign my mindset on route to work. I am always positive, upbeat and motivated to have a laugh. If you are struggling that bad, if you cannot afford your regular coffee, or would like something to eat and have limited funds, pop by give me the signal, and I will always assist. Money will not be an issue. Fingers crossed we get our target of 10k.
