23.01.2022 The precious moment that we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Our container, carrying the medical equipment donated by the Royal Adelaide Hospital... via RAWCS - Central Region and Donations in Kind Central Region was cleared through Nigerian Customs and has arrived at Akanu Ohafia Institute of Learning. On behalf of EQUALS Foundation and Uduma Charity Organsation, we sincerely thank all Rotarians involved in this project, especially Dave Cockshell and Joan Tingey. Stay tuned for photos of the medical equipment being used both in the new hospital which has been set up for the community and the container which will be converted to the new medical wing at #Akanu Ohafia Institute of Learning for our children. The lives that this single action will save, and the change it will bring to the people of #Akanu, must never be underestimated. Our deepest gratitude to all involved. #WatchUsGrow

12.01.2022 Caf Culture is a social enterprise initiative that supports the Equals Foundation in implementing valuable social and economic and development projects. The main focus is the Akanu Project creating equality by providing education, health care services, economic and social advancement within Akanu, a remote, rural village in southern Nigeria. This began with building a free school for some of the worlds poorest children, creating learning opportunities for community members,... with a particular focus on the inclusion and empowerment of women and the development of leadership and life skills. The next current focus is the implementation of a working medial clinic for adequate health care. All our baristas are volunteers and all coffee sales go into these projects so please help by purchasing your coffee at caf culture. We can make a greater difference if we work together. #Beyondcoffee #Akanu
