22.01.2022 Kindness at Christmas! How awesome is this? Local young boy Logan, 9 years old, has donated a Cafe Y voucher as a pay it forward to a young person! This gesture is twice as special, as it not only provides a gift, but purchasing the voucher at Cafe Y supports the Cafe, which in turn keeps our social enterprise going. ... Did you know that we train over 40 young people at the Cafe each year? As part of their Cert II and Cert III Hospitality course, young people conduct important on-the-job training hours at Cafe Y, exposing them to real customers, team-work and food/beverage preparation. This training not only enhances the skills required for young people to seek employment, but instils confidence for their journey into paid work! So, if you’d like to give a gift, and also help a young person at the same time, grab a Cafe Y gift voucher. Oh and PS the food is awesome!

Sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, neighbours, siblings and friends - we all have connections to young people in our lives whether they be related or through friends and family. And we know the majority of these young people have family support and nurturing, people that love them and will want to spoil them on Christmas Day. ... Unfortunately though, not all young people have the support of family and will not feel the joy of Christmas in the way that our own friends and family will. At Project Youth, we aim to bring some joy, fun, festivity and hope to the young people in our programs at all times and Christmas is a special time where we’d like to offer more. Can you help? For just a one-off donation of $25, $50 or $75 your funds will go towards purchasing a gift for a young person or providing a yummy Christmas lunch. 06.01.2022 What else to do on a rainy Tuesday morning? Use your Cafe Y Voucher that you got for Christmas - that's what! We love seeing our customers return regularly. This lovely local couple received a Cafe Y voucher from their grandchildren for Christmas, and they have come in for two weeks in a row to spend their voucher. So what was on the food wish list today? Scones with jam and cream and hot chocolates of course. ... If you've got a Cafe Y voucher sitting in your wallet ready to use, pop on in soon for the best coffee in Menai. 01.01.2022 What are you doing this Saturday? Going to the Project Youth Artisan Market - that's what? Wow - is that like a market where young people are selling their own arty creations?... It sure is - and there's going to be live music as well. You should come - we can get breakfast or lunch at Cafe Y too - their food is awesome! I'd love to come and support those young people. I might even do some of my Christmas shopping! What time is it on? It's on from 9am to 1pm. Shall we meet there at Menai, in the park just near the Cafe? Sure thing - sounds great, can't wait! I'll tell some other friends to come too! Awesome - it will be a nice place to catch up with mates and support young people. But it's cash only, so don't forget to get some money out before you come!
