19.01.2022 Local creatives we want to hear from you! Expressions of Interest are now being called for Captain Moonlite Rides Again Visual Stories of Ballarat Pride, a projection installation that celebrates our local LGBTIQ+ community. The community and its allies are being invited to submit still images or video or other artistic forms like visual art, sculpture, dance, short film and poetry that can be displayed in images which celebrate pride and inclusion. But what’s t...he connection with bearded bushranger Captain Moonlite, pictured? we hear you ask. Andrew George Scott aka Captain Moonlite was arguably one of Ballarat's first members of the local LGBTIQ+ community, spending time here in the 1870s, and his story has been used as a catalyst for Captain Moonlite Rides Again. Cafs is pleased to be partnering with local LGBTIQ+ community members, artists, media agencies and organisations, historians and allies, to bring the region this unique art installation that will be projected on the side of Cafs’ historic building in Lydiard Street North, Ballarat for three weeks in March.
