23.01.2022 Channel 9 news coverage of our meeting this evening.

22.01.2022 Hi All, Just a reminder that the community meeting is being held tonight at 5pm at raygal nursery. Bring your family, bring your friends!

22.01.2022 Hi all, great turn out at our meeting last night! Please note that there is another meeting on tonight at Llandilo per details below. There will be a number o...f speakers including myself so please make the effort to come along. Bring your family and friends. We need to double the attendance at last nights meeting! See more

22.01.2022 Hi all, I just picked up a message from Stuart Ayres that was left on my mobile during the meeting this evening at Raygal Nursery. I hope all of you got to attend the Community meeting at Raygal this evening. If you did, you would have heard me say that I received a phone call from Stuart Ayes earlier this week. During that call he indicated that our message was being received loud and clear and that he was attending meetings relevant to our cause yesterday and that he woul...d call me back this morning. It appears he was delayed, hence the late call. Better late than never! The general contents of his message left on my phone this evening was that Government has listened to a lot of our feedback and is actively considering the 1951 corridor going on exhibition during the current exhibition period. He said that there was a bit of work to do before that can be finalised but "suffices to say that they are moving rapidly towards that outcome". From the phone call earlier in the week and the message left this evening, I understand the significance of this move is that both corridors would then be up for public discussion / debate and not just the current new corridor through the heart of Castlereagh, Cranebrook and Llandilo. It seems that currently there is only one option for Government to consider (being the new corridor) where this step would open up both options for discussion. It seems that this would allow the motorway to go back to the original 1951 corridor, subject to the finalisation of the submission process. For what its worth, I personally think this is positive step forward. I think it indicates that the Government is listening and also that it is actively trying to create a mechanism for putting the motorway back where it was. Time will tell. In the mean time, please keep fighting the good fight and get those submissions in! I will circulate any further news on this front a soon as it comes to hand. Steve See more

20.01.2022 Hi all, when we launched the Castlereagh Action Group the day after we received our love letters from the Government, we set up this Facebook page. We subsequently realised that a Facebook Group (as distinct to a Facebook page) was more appropriate for our needs and the cause, so we established the CAG Facebook Group. We have kept both going ever since. Having both running has become confusing (if not for you, it has for me) and difficult to manage, so were planning to cl...ose the Facebook page down over the next couple of days. Our Facebook Group will of course continue to operate. We will transfer any relevant content from the page to the group before closing the page down. For those of you who have not already joined our group. Please follow the link below and push the button that says Join Group. https://m.facebook.com/groups/175143749804271 Steve See more

20.01.2022 Hi All Just a reminder about the TfNSW drop-in session tonight. We need to make sure as many people attend as possible. The meeting is being held at: 6:30-8:30 at Castlereagh Hall ... 1158 Castlereagh Rd, Castlreagh See more

18.01.2022 What a terrible, terrible day for this country when we see the people of the Central West jumping for joy at the expense of the people in historic Castlereagh who are unnecessarily losing their homes. The people in Castlereagh are not trying to stop your new corridor, we just want it put back where it has been allocated for the past 60 years through land the government already owns instead of through hundreds of homes unnecessarily. People of the central west please visit o...ur Facebook page and group at The Castlereagh Action Group and see what is really happening. With your support we can keep our homes and you can still get your corridor. Your support could avoid decades of uncertainty for both the people of Castlereagh and you. If the corridor is preserved in the current planned route through hundreds of homes in historic Castlereagh, rest assured uncertainty will surround the whole corridor for decades to come given the political and legal battles that will inevitably follow. People of the Central West please work with us to get the corridor put back where it was through land the government owns at Castlereagh rather than through hundreds of homes. See more

17.01.2022 Hi all, word is we might be getting some good news tomorrow! Stay tuned!

15.01.2022 Hi all, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) have requested feedback by Friday 18 May 2018. By visiting the TfNSW website (https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/corridors/blor) you can "use the interactive online map to see the recommended corridor locations and to provide your feedback. Alternatively, attend one of the drop-in sessions or use the online feedback form." Ill be doing all three! I suggest you all do the same. Please be sure to get your written submissions in otherwise your voice will not be heard.

13.01.2022 Hi all, in relation to the many requests for my submission and the BLORCC marked up map, we will have a webpage up and running today that will help us get the good word out as well as provide a facility to download documents. Watch this space!

13.01.2022 Hi all, Ive had a number of enquiries about the AO size map indicating the impacted properties that was on display at the Raygal meeting last evening. Ive attached a JPEG version of the map to this post. Happy to email it to you in PDF if you flick me your email address. Steve

08.01.2022 Hi All, We have decided to start a Facebook Group for affected residents, this means, once you are a member you will receive notifications when anyone posts on the page (and not just the admins) and therefore when any new information is being shared or spoken about, keeping you more up-to-date. We will continue to run both the Facebook Page and the Facebook Group. Please head over to the group below and click join.

07.01.2022 Hi all, for those of you who dont know, there is a great deal of information about the new Bells Line of Road on the Transport NSW website at the following location: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/corridors/blor Of particular interest is the Draft Strategic Environmental Assessment dated February 2018 which details the logic behind the current proposal. Its a large document but not all of it is relevant to our group. I strongly recommend you download the document and read it.

06.01.2022 Hi all, Im struggling a bit to keep up with all of the email requests for my submission and the BLORCC marked up map. Were in the process of getting everyone into a database so that this can be handled more efficiently. Bear with me and Ill get them to you as quick as I can. Steve

05.01.2022 Dear all, further to my post below, regarding the National Parties new video about the Castlereagh Corridor, we need to enlist the help of every person who featured in that video (even if reluctantly) particularly given the Nationals and the Liberals act as one. We at least need to let them know whats happening. It would be great if everyone could write to each of them explaining that: - hundreds of families stand to loose our homes because the corridor has been moved from ...the corridor that has been allocated for 60 years; - we are not trying to stop the Castlereagh Corridor, we just want is it moved back to where it has been allocated for the past 60 years; - hundreds of families have built and developed homes in the path of the revised corridor on the strength of advise from government that the motorway would eventually be built some distance away in the original preserved corridor; - the governments actions in this regard may be found to constitute misleading and deceptive conduct; - the political and legal battles that will surround this road if the corridor is not put back where it was, may place the WHOLE CORRIDOR in jeopardy for decades to come; and - all other rational arguments you can muster. Please make the effort, we need everyone to write to these people with logical and rational reasons (rather than rants) why this cannot be aloud to happen. See more
