24.01.2022 So... Coronavirus, huh? Sheesh. This unexpected downtime for musos is a massive bummer - income lost, uncertainty everywhere. It sucks. And we feel it too. Heres hoping we find our way back to a new normal, quickly. That said, while there is a break in the action it can also be a great time to get your overworked gear maintained.... I understand times are tight though, so we are here to help with discounted rates for musos. So if you need your guitar or bass or whatever cleaned, repaired or just generally brought up to speed, get in touch. We are here to help, and when it comes to the cost we will come to the party to keep costs as low as possible. As Mr Lennon and Mr McCartney said, we can work it out. :) See more

23.01.2022 Unfortunately some significant power interruptions over the last few days have meant that we have fallen a bit behind here in tech town, especially those repairs requiring soldering. But, there has been an electrician at the store all afternoon, working hard to solve the problem, so were hoping to get back into the swing and make a significant dent in the pile tomorrow. :)

23.01.2022 Hey all! Im taking a well earned break now for a couple of weeks. Please contact Kosmic direct on 08 9204 7577 with any enquiries. Cheers! Cain

23.01.2022 Hello everyone! Just a quicks heads up that thanks to the patronage of lovely people such as yourselves things are very, very busy here in Tech Town. I have just over 20 gtrs here patiently waiting for attention, needing some sweet, sweet love. So there is a bit of a wait for anything at the moment. Of course if you need something urgently let me know and well see what we can do. :)

22.01.2022 Who says the 70s was a bit of a dark time for Gibson? Sure... maybe me. Once or twice. ;) But this 70s 335TD is absolutely glorious. *swoon*

22.01.2022 69 Gibson ES355 Stereo. Cleaned, elecs repaired, restrung and set up, ready for another round! :)

21.01.2022 When repairing reverb tanks it I always like to test with a 58 Reissue LP. For science.

18.01.2022 Original NOS Sprague Vitamin Q 0.022uf caps. The finest caps Ive heard in LPs - I have sets in both of mine. Getting hard to find these days, and the pricing is getting crazy. Regularly trading for near $100 pair on ebay! Managed to get hold of a few online and they finally arrived today. :D

17.01.2022 What better way to kick off a Monday than with a spruce up and reset of this beautiful old gal! A glorious Gibson 60 LP Jnr, all original and no issues. Woot!

17.01.2022 Saturday morning, getting my solder on! Putting together a new harness for a mates beautiful Gibson 54 reissue LP. Im using some very highly regarded VIPots from Vintage Inspired Pickups, which almost exactly replicate the taper of the Centralab pots used by Gibson in the 50s. Together with a pair of NOS Sprague Vitamin Q caps, it should make for a nice upgrade to the R4s signal path!

11.01.2022 Hello all! Welcome to the official page for Kosmic Guitar Repairs. My name is Cain, and this page is a way for people to communicate with me, ask questions, nerd out, without having to use those pesky old school communication methods like calling, or coming in (although you should also feel free to do those things too). So if I can help in any way with your guitar related questions, please, get in touch! :)

10.01.2022 Its been frighteningly busy, but with luck we may be coming up for air later this week! Big thanks to all for the support and patronage. :)

10.01.2022 Hi everyone! Well. Strange days keep getting stranger. So with times being what they are I have made the decision to move my work back home again. This way I can spend some time on the tools while also keeping the kids home. I will still continue to work with Mega Music, and genuinely looking forward to moving back into the Wangara store once we have navigated through this unprecedented period of social turmoil. Until that happens feel free to contact me directly or chat t...o any of the fine folks at Mega Wangara. So, remember to stay safe everyone. Maintain physical distancing, wash your hands, play your guitars as loudly and proudly as you can. And above all be excellent to each other. Cheers, Cain See more

09.01.2022 MASSIVE sale at Kosmic today/tomorrow! Some amazing Fender Custom Shop guitars going out at 40% off!! :D https://www.kosmic.com.au/sale

07.01.2022 Almost every guitarist has that one guitar in their head that keeps them awake at night, keeping sleep away through the sheer power of lust. Its the guitar that, should it ever became available, raises serious questions as to whether or not you really HAVE to eat this week/month/year, and do the kids REALLY need new shoes, or perhaps MAYBE you could sell your car and walk everywhere for a while instead, carrying this magnificent must have beast of an instrument slung over your shoulder like a glorious musical broadsword of truth. For me, that soul awakening financial crippler would be this, an original 1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop. Oh baby.

06.01.2022 Todays happy moment - an original Pat No humbucker in a battered old 69 Gibson ES355.

05.01.2022 Hey all! So, Im off for the school holidays. Will be back in a fortnight. Until then the lovely folks at Kosmic will happily perform any minor adjustments or restrings as their time permits. :) Thanks for all your support and custom! Cheers, Cain

05.01.2022 Neck pickup too dark? Or having trouble balancing the tone from bridge to neck? Might be worth trying a magnet swap! Popping an A4 into the neck (as I am with this Gibson Burstbucker Pro) can help enormously. :)

04.01.2022 Hi everyone! So, yeh, things have changed. People change. Business ebbs and flows. But like a phoenix from the ashes, as a small consolation to those who need, I bring you the good news. I am (still) here to help with your guitar maintenance and repair stuff. Its what I do, and I cant stop now. Cains Guitar Workshop, baby! Hit me up!

01.01.2022 So, its been incredibly busy in Kosmic town. In addition to new rooms for The Vault and The Bassment, we now have a brand new Guitar Service Centre! A purpose built area designed to help us better service all your guitar/bass service needs. :) Also, I have a new colleague in repairs! Dave Coughran has joined me in the gentlemanly pursuit of tone & playability, and will be found smiling across the bench in our new Guitar Service Centre every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Dave is a lovely chap who most of you will already know, tremendously good with a string winder and magic with a soldering iron. (Plus he can play the guitar like the unholy child of Joe Perry and Jimmy Page.) :D
