25.01.2022 Okay, so I came across Joshy Soul after binge-watching roller skating videos on Tik Tok and am so glad I did! This man is an amazing musician (whose songs have apparently disappeared off of Spotify so now my smooth playlist is severely lacking), has the coolest sense of style, and is an all round great human. So of course I illustrated him! I trialed a new way of illustrating skin in this piece, and I really think its paid off wonderfully! 25.01.2022 Super quick illustration of @reeceking_ from last night. Normally an illustration can take me anywhere between 2-3 hours. I managed to smash this one out in 45 minutes. Its not as detailed as I normally like to go but Im trying to learn to embrace imperfections and treat my illustrations as more of an interpretation of an image not an exact replica. ... The sole requests for this piece was to include the MF Doom mask and a quote from one of the musicians songs, and to incorporate this all into a urban landscape with a lot going on. 22.01.2022 Finally finished my illustration of the absolutely stunning @zoeisabellakravitz This was a brand new technique for me to use for the entire piece, this dot work being something I only really used for smaller sections in other pieces, before blending them out. 08.01.2022 So last week within the span of two days I binged watched all of Fleabag. Granted, Fleabag is only 2 seasons and 12 20-minute episodes long, but I think the point that I loved the show is made. I was also at this time struggling to think of what to illustrate next, so discovering, completing, and loving Fleabag couldnt have come at a better time. 01.01.2022 The Digital Disruption of Death was an enormous research and design project for my studio this semester. The book acts as a compendium of everything to do with death in the digital age, and a learning tool for those interested in the topic. A big part of the design was creating an easy to use navigation system throughout the book, done through distinctive sections, and navigational footnotes that help the reader find exactly what theyre looking for, and everything it links... to within the book.
