21.01.2022 What a very productive day we had at the Mareeba Branch Workshop, first one for the year due to our new way of living. Keeping to our social distancing and only a limited amount that could attend, we rolled, cut, frilled, veined and wired well over 50 petals, but it was well worth it. The finished product (when I finish)is a handbag with all the flowers hanging off the handles but here are the flowers that we worked on. A very big Thankyou to Kylie for being our demonstrator and also to the Mareeba Branch members, Thankyou for including us.

20.01.2022 With the Annual Cairns Show quickly approaching (17th-19th July), this is the time to start thinking about putting an entry into The Iced Cakes Section. Nomination forms and Schedules can be downloaded off the Internet or you can call into the Cairns Showgrounds Office. The Iced Cake Judges from the Brisbane area, will be demonstrating after they finish Judging on the Tuesday night 16th July, 6.30pm at The FRESHWATER Girl Guide Hut, Kamerunga Road, Freshwater. $5 entry fee. All are welcome.

20.01.2022 One of our newest members just created this great Birthday Cake for her husband. For someone that has not had a lot of experience, what a fantastic effort, keep practicing.

18.01.2022 We had our last meeting, AGM and Christmas breakup on the 11th November, good to catchup after a rocky year we all have had. Last week was a busy one with Val, Kim, Tracey, Jo and myself covering then decorating the mini Christmas Cakes for our annual Fundraiser. Christmas music in the background got us feeling the Christmas Spirit and the joy we got while decorating these cakes is just what we all needed. A Big Thank you to MaryLou, Judy and Alema for ordering these 112 Cakes, we greatly appreciate your continued support. Next week sees us creating the Meals on Wheels Christmas Cakes donated by the Lions Clubs of Cairns and district. More photos to come.

17.01.2022 The Cairns Cake Decorators is having there 1st meeting tonight for 2020, 6.30pm at The Cairns Girl Guide Hut, 34a James St, Cairns North. All new and old members, as well as anyone that would like to learn the Art of Sugar in Cake Decorating are very welcome.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to The Cairns Cake Decorators Members, who won places in the 2019 Cairns Show. All your hard earned work shone though. To Lorraine who is leaving Cairns, what a way to leave the Branch in getting a 1st in your section.

14.01.2022 The Cairns Cake Decorators will be at the Mothers Day Market, 5th May Fred Moule Pavilion, selling decorated mini Mothers Day Cakes. Spoil Mum this Mothers Day with her very own cake.

11.01.2022 The Cairns Cake Decorators monthly meeting is this Wednesday 11th, 6.30pm at The Girl Guide Hut, 34a James St, Cairns North. After our short meeting we will be making sugar Christmas Decorations for our fundraiser cakes, just bring your basic tool kit, and the club will supply the rest.

11.01.2022 What a great weekend was had by the Cairns Cake Decorators. Our annual Workshop Weekend was held at The Yorkey’s’ Knob Community Hall and our wonderful guest demonstrators Leone and Michelle had so much knowledge to share with us from Santa’s, Rudolf, covering a square cake to get the straight sides with the new beaut smoothers, stenciling and painting on the side of our cakes to our beautiful full rose, bud and leaves. A big thank you to you both, for sharing these technics. Here are a few photos of the weekend

05.01.2022 Thankyou to all the members that helped cook and decorate our Mini Christmas Cakes for our Fundraiser. Once again, a lot of hard work and time go into creating these cakes but the end result is worth it. Many thanks to the business that has supported us for the last 4 years. Merry Christmas to you all.

The Lyons Clubs Of Cairns and District, kindly donate the cakes and then our Members make mini plaques to go on top of these cakes. A lot of hard work and time go into this community event and our Members look forward to this morning. The Club members bring there husbands, children, grandchildren and neighbours to help on the day, so a big Thankyou to those who helped.
