23.01.2022 There's one particular element of a wedding, one particular person, that is so important but does all their work behind the scenes, incognito. So, yesterday we pulled the photographer, Matthew Evans from Matthew Evans Photography @matthew_evans_photography from behind the camera to join in the shenanigans. Always a pleasure working with you Matt.

23.01.2022 Okey dokey. I am now on social media as a Funeral Celebrant. Come and check me out at: https://www.facebook.com/cairnslifecelebrant Not much there yet, granted, but I've already had the honour of conducting my first memorial service. For now, it's more about a presence than it is about content. So, feel free to pop in and 'like' my page.

23.01.2022 In these trying times the Cairns wedding industry is still doing everything it can to ensure that you can still marry, albeit with reduced numbers. One such provider is Mulgrave Gardens, just south of Cairns. They are open for business to conduct simple elopements in keeping with the government's wedding guide-lines. So, if you find yourselves giving thought to an elopement, have a look at Mulgrave Gardens website as an alternate venue. www.mulgravegardens.com.au

23.01.2022 Setting the scene for a small elopement on Palm Cove Beach.

22.01.2022 A little message from me to you. Keep on keeping on and let's get married people.

21.01.2022 A light-hearted ceremony filled with love and laughter for the wedding of Ryan and Garry. Bigger is not always better. #beachelopement #beachwedding #beachweddingcairns #loveislove... #samesexcelebrantcairns #cairnssamesexcelebrant See more

21.01.2022 This is how I'm moving forward this year. The black one, the one on your right, is my favourite.

21.01.2022 I just want to give a big shout out to Jacquie Byard at The Bluewater Bar and Grill. My road as a Celebrant has been pretty stress-free to date and I am blessed and grateful for this. Yesterday was my first wedding of the season and it went absolutely fine. The couple were happy, as were the guests, with one couple even saying it was as good as the other two weddings of mine that they had attended. Well, I shan't go into detail, but suffice it to say that if it hadn't been for Jacquie it would have been a totally different story.

19.01.2022 20 people at a wedding, excluding the couple and the Celebrant, plus relaxed travel restrictions. I smell.wedding season.20 people at a wedding, excluding the couple and the Celebrant, plus relaxed travel restrictions. I smell.wedding season.

15.01.2022 Cairns locals are so very respectful of the wedding process. Tourists, however, can be a tad oblivious. Narelle is literally in tears at my attempt to shoo a Chinese gentleman out of the background. Other than that, a beautiful elopement at Botanic Gardens on a sunny Monday morning. A beautiful start to their marriage and a beautiful start to my week. #cairnscelebrant #celebrantcairns #celebrantpalmcove #palmcovecelebrant #cairnstropicalwedding #tropicalweddingcairns #beachweddingcairns #cairnsbeachwedding #cairnstropicalmarriages #malecelebrantcairns #cairnsmalecelebrant #samesexweddingcairns #cairnssamesexwedding #samesexcelebrantcairns #cairnssamesexcelebrant #cairnselopement #elopementcairns #elopement

08.01.2022 To all my friends, family, industry colleagues, present and prospective clients, the spam and telesales crew from down south and the crazy, random, total stranger Phillipino chick who consistently calls me at exactly 3:33am every 3.267 weeks, I have totally kiboshed my phone screen. I cannot receive any text messages or make any calls as it is completely black. If you need to text me, please WhatsApp or PM me. Email is not an issue. New phone in a few days.

08.01.2022 No two words are more important right now in the present climate. If you are concerned about your wedding plans, there are a number of options that you could, and should, consider. Don't cancel.....postpone. Anyone who is holding a deposit/booking fee/retainer will be more than happy to accommodate rescheduling your date. One option is to proceed with your wedding, but with reduced numbers, and postpone your reception. Think about it. A small intimate wedding, and reschedule ...your wedding reception with all your friends, family and loved ones for, ooh, let's say... your first wedding anniversary. You will have forked out oodles of cash already securing service providers, venues and accommodation. Money you stand to lose as it's money that's often non-refundable if you cancel. Your service providers will be more than happy to work with you, and those close to you will not only be able to celebrate with you, albeit at a later date, but each and every one of them will then become part of the story, and what a story it will be. Your love and your Marriage will have overcome an obstacle that stands to bring giants down. Prove the strength of your love and your commitment. Don't give up, don't panic. As we say in South Africa, "Make a plan." See more

07.01.2022 Lockwood Bar. My kind of bar.

05.01.2022 After an email from the organisation that calls themselves The Bridal Awards, I have removed the grab I took from their site after I received news, from them, that I had won 1st place in the Master of Ceremonies category, as voted by my brides. Well, this most recent email informed me that I was not in fact the winner of that category, as voted by the brides. Rather, because I had not paid them for the privilege of displaying my 'award' on any of my social media, I hadn't won anything at all. So, I have removed it as I would hate to offend anyone. Found a beautiful picture taken by Benn Brown @ Blue Sky Photography from Stacey and Sara's wedding @ Sea Temple Resort & Spa Palm Cove instead.

03.01.2022 2019 was an absolutely crazy year and the best one yet. So much so that my social media was sadly and badly neglected. So, here are a few shots from the many I have taken. (FYI and FTR - For The Record - 2020 will see more credits to my industry colleagues and peers as I have adjusted my booking form to ask for everyone's social media info). #cairnscelebrant #celebrantcairns #celebrantpalmcove #palmcovecelebrant #cairnstropicalwedding #tropicalweddingcairns #beachweddingcairns #cairnsbeachwedding #cairnstropicalmarriages #malecelebrantcairns #cairnsmalecelebrant #samesexweddingcairns #cairnssamesexwedding #samesexcelebrantcairns #cairnssamesexcelebrant

03.01.2022 Lovely breezey little elopement at Clifton Beach yesterday with Ahto and Merily. These two were so happy to finally tie the knot with their dream tropical wedding and it was my pleasure, and honour, to be their Celebrant. #wedinparadise #dreambeachwedding #cairnscelebrant #celebrantcairns #celebrantpalmcove #palmcovecelebrant #cairnstropicalwedding #tropicalweddingcairns #beachweddingcairns #cairnsbeachwedding #cairnstropicalmarriages #malecelebrantcairns #cairnsmalecelebrant #samesexweddingcairns #cairnssamesexwedding #samesexcelebrantcairns #cairnssamesexcelebrant

02.01.2022 So Oliver and Kelly were a Visa Wedding booked for later in the year. Fate smiled on them and Kelly arrived in Cairns in late February. Not wanting to take any chances, they asked if they could move their date forward. Hell yeah!! We had the ceremony at their home in Holloway's Beach. Yes, there were six of us, but the ring bearer was of the canine persuasion, so no probs. What a beautiful reason to get out of the house. The government restrictions do not affect the spirit of the day. Only 5 people? That's intimate boys and girls. It's the essence of a wedding in it's purest form. No fanfare. No fireworks. Just love, laughter and commitment.
