18.01.2022 Discipleship Jesus said to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). What is a disciple? It is simply a student, a learner. Many people put this around backwards, by making disciples before baptism, and neglecting it afterwards. All Christians who want to grow are called to be lifelong disciples. It requires a humble, teachable spirit. All great leaders of the church choose wise mentors, because they want to continue learning as disciples, even in leadership positions. T...oo many Christians are self-willed, not willing to learn. Jesus had several who made excuses, turning down the opportunity. Jesus told one, Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead. (Matthew 8:22) All Christians are disciples (Acts 6:1, 7). Beginning in Antioch, the word disciple and Christian became synonymous (Acts 11:26). Paul gave some principles of discipleship in Colossians 1:28-29 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily. Notice several things: 1. Discipleship preaches Him, Jesus. 2. Discipleship involves warning. 3. Discipleship is teaching. 4. Discipleship necessitates wisdom. 5. Discipleship is work.

12.01.2022 God can interrupt us via an epiphany, a theophany, or a revelation to call us. Let’s learn about God’s call. Let’s look at Jesus calling Philip and Nathaniel in John 1:43-51.

07.01.2022 What is our call to? What does the call of some early disciples teach us about our call from God? We will learn that our call is first and foremost to a change of heart, to believe. We will look at the call of Simon, Andrew, James and John in Mark 1:14-20.

07.01.2022 Christmas season finished on 5 January. What blessings and trials will this year bring? What blessings will we share?
