21.01.2022 Them Good Feels Just received a message from a lovely couple that I helped plan and book their East Coast of Australia Adventure. Kelsey & Shane skydived from 14,000ft over the Whitsunday Islands and they sent me through a thank you message for the experience with some photos! ... This is the best part of helping plan guests holidays; seeing them enjoying their time and letting me be apart of it Thier next adventure is a sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands and then down the coast onto Fraser Island. Pretty safe to say that I love my job

19.01.2022 I know so many people out there that are trying to do the right thing, and well done guys !! But, you also need to be wary of the ‘Greenwashing’ - the manipulative marketing to appeal to the eco-conscious consumers, that is sometimes not ‘oh so environment friendly’. Please see below for a break down on Degradable, Biodegradable and Compostable ... Biodegradable - items are biodegradable when living things such as bacteria or fungi can break it down. Certain conditions must be met for it to happen e.g. temperatures must reach 50 degrees Celsius and exposure to UV light. In a nutshell, these items can't biodegrade in landfill or the ocean. AVOID! Degradable - doesn't require living things to break down, particular chemicals are added to these items to help them break down. Degradable items will "break down" into microplastics - thumbs down! Compostable - plant based product rather than plastic and can be "digested" by bacteria in composting conditions (eg home compost bins or composting facilities). To be classified as "compostable" it must meet certain conditions such as breaking down within a particular time frame, can't leech harmful residues or be toxic to worms. So keep your eyes peeled for COMPOSTABLE, the others are greenwash!

17.01.2022 #MANTARESCUE ON LADY ELLIOT ISLAND On Wednesday 26th February 2020, during a scheduled dive off #ladyelliotisland, dive instructor Andy Lomakin had an extraordinary encounter with one of our oceans most majestic creatures, a manta ray. The group were partway through a dive just south of the Island when the female manta ray began swimming towards them appearing to ask for help. As the animal swam closer, the group noticed that she was entangled in fishing line and trailing... a troll board, obstructing her movement. The manta ray allowed the group to approach, and Andy to remove the debris until eventually cut free. Once the fishing line was removed, the manta ray swam off slowly and calmly leaving the dive group with an encounter they will never forget Footage of the encounter was captured by Matt Boyd and Dee Cooper; they describe the experience as A genuine humbling experience and incredible to have captured it for others to share. Kudos to Andy for his persistence in getting all the line off This encounter is a critical reminder of the impacts that marine debris is having on our beautiful wildlife! Sadly, many marine mammals, seabirds and fish die each year from being entangled in or ingesting marine debris. https://www.instagram.com/sea_skills/ #thisisqueensland #seeaustralia #southerngreatbarrierreef #animalrescue #mantamonday #marinerescue #conservation

05.01.2022 What a great insight into the population boom Nature provides us all with so many wonderful and useful things. From beautiful sights, to food & shelter, to maintaining the delicate balance necessary to sustain life on this planet. As industry advances and the human footprint spreads, the delicacy of this balance increases more and more. As a result, it is ever-important that we do our due diligence in helping nature to thrive, however we can. That starts with taking care o...f the environment. Humans, though often unintentionally, have the most detrimental impact on the environment. However, there are a multitude of ways in which we help the environment as well. The importance of caring for the environment is absolutely paramount for many reasons. Perhaps most importantly, we need to make sure that we leave this place better than when we came for the next generations
