23.01.2022 Boast Post!! Cairns Angels has always been about providing opportunities for female players. Now we’d like to celebrate a few players who have recently shone! Paris Marvontay Mia & Mila have all been selected into the Queensland Youth Women’s Squad, which if successful will attend the Youth Women’s Nationals in Canberra at Easter! While long time Open Women’s players Courtney Low & Keely Henderson have once again proved their skills and been selected into the Queensland Open... Women’s Squad, who if successful will also participate in Canberra at Easter in the Open Women’s Nationals! Hirari Kurihara was also recently selected to represent Qld @ the U19 Softball Nationals which due to her awesome performance, earned her a position in the U19 Australian side who will be travelling to Peru for the WBSC U19 World Cup in August! It shows that once given an opportunity to play, we dominate! I’m so incredibly proud off all past, present and future Angels players! 23.01.2022 So today was a great day!! Angels beat Reds!! Girls played an awesome game, Keely Henderson had an outstanding outing on the mound and Hirari Kurihara closed it out beautifully! Couple of successful double plays and awesome catch of a line drive by Tayla Stanton in left field!! These girls have now been playing together for about 2-3 years as a group and the improvements each week is so exciting to watch! 03.01.2022 Grand Finals this week!!! Sunday 11/10/2020 Angels are playing Bandits for the division 3 GOLD @ 9am on diamond 1 If anyone wants to come and support there will be the final games of the season all day starting at 9am and finishing at 5pm ... Angels, and I’m sure everyone from CBL and CJBL, are grateful to have had a season this year. COVID meant it was a short and less competitive one, but we are all lucky that we got to play. It was good seeing everyone working together and following COVID rules to ensure the season went ahead. A huge thank you to Karina for getting us this far, we’ll miss you and wish you good luck for your new beginning in Lismore with the whole family! Karina started Angels in 2017 to give Cairns girls an opportunity to play baseball together as a team and develop. She’s worked so hard using her experience and knowledge alongside CBL, CJBL, the clubs and Al to make this team a reality and we’re all going to continue grinding for Angels. Angels would also like to thank Cubs for letting us join their trainings over the last few years to help us out - it means a lot and we appreciate the support! To everyone who has filled in for us on the field this season, and all past seasons, we hope to be able to do the same for you as we continue to grow- thank you!! 02.01.2022 So these guys have joined the Angels for the last 2 weeks and we’ve had a blast having them, but they are on to bigger and better things now. Bringing a Dodgers Senior team back into the competition! Good luck and can’t wait to face you in the coming weeks! Also 2 newly appointed Angels Marvontay and Kirah will be playing in both Angels and Dodgers to help build Dodgers for our COVID-19 shortened season.
