24.01.2022 Heres some photos from an up-market hotel in Cairns. In the main function room, they had many cordial stains which other carpet cleaners had attempted to remove, without success. We removed the stains completely from the pure wool carpet.

22.01.2022 A somewhat awkward empty commercial property that we cleaned at 05:30 this morning. Awkward due to limited time for city parking.

22.01.2022 Some time back, before the Sheraton Mirage (Port Douglas), did their renovations, Delia & I were asked to clean some upholstery for the resort. Quite a bit actually, a full two days work for us both.

22.01.2022 Last night, we cleaned the carpets in one of Cairns top tourist destinations offices. Unfortunately, due to company policy, they cannot make an official remark. But here is what the office manager had to say in an email to us:... Thank you so much Delia & Shorty. I came in this morning and the room smelt clean and fresh for the first time in years! We are very happy with the finished product. Unfortunately we cant write a comment on your Facebook as a company sorry. But I definitely will calling you up later this year for our rug and couches at home. I have passed your invoice on to our accounts team to take care of. Thanks again! 20.01.2022 Back to the airport today to clean the mixed carpet in a luxurious VIP Jet today. Confidentiality stops me from naming the owners. After discussions, we arrived at a mutual outcome for this work.... Carpet was removed to the hangar floor for thorough cleaning.

20.01.2022 Had a nasty job to clean carpets in the offices of a Cairns Bitumen plant. Unfortunately, the workers come straight from the plant into the offices, leaving fresh bitumen from their work boots on the office carpets. 20.01.2022 Tight spot in a boutique gymnasium with not a lot of roof height either. Had to slide the cupboard doors to get the machine up the stairs. But the carpets came up great.

19.01.2022 A lovely White Leather modular & a very nice, and different, two seat recliner that Delia & I cleaned and applied leather protection to today. With all the rain... weve been having, we are getting calls to remove mould from not only furniture, but also leather clothing. Luckily, this beautiful suite had no mould at all. 18.01.2022 Commercial work has been fairly non existent for these past few weeks. However, we had a previous client contact us to do a "safe" clean of the carpet throughout their entire offices prior to staff returning to work next week. Unfortunately, I was unable to take interior photographs due to security concerns.... Im sure that many will recognise this well known, world wide acclaimed tourist attraction. New signs go on the van next week. The red sign is being replaced.

We wear disposable masks, booties, (shoe covers), & gloves that are replaced off site regularly, before disposal. Indeed, even our cleaning solutions have been changed to include products that will neutralise any possible bacteria that we may encounter in any carpets, upholstery or mattresses that we attend to.... Upon completion of each job, all of our equipment is treated with a sterilising agent to control any possible bacteria that we may have picked up, prior to going to the next job. Luckily, being in Cairns where the weather is fairly warm, this in itself can be a good deterrent for the current virus going around, but we insist on being even more careful, and have taken these extra steps to ensure the safety of our clients, their family, their staff & any visitors with the work that we do either in home or in business. 15.01.2022 Had a very heavily soiled commercial carpet to do today. Used Grease Hawg for a very successful clean made healthier by the addition of another product that kills bacteria. The door behind the machine in the last pic, is the entrance to this very busy kitchen, so it gets plenty of greasy soiling on the carpet.

13.01.2022 Heres some interesting carpet pieces that we were asked to clean recently. They are a mixture of Bamboo carpet, Wool carpet makes up the crocodile image which has Gold Lurex threads for the eyes, other carpet is a wool velvet. Notice the detail in the crabs claw marks in the "sand".

13.01.2022 Heres a few pics of the very cramped area that I had to dry out at Cairns International Airport. I am soooooo glad that I dont have to remove all the furniture then treat the carpet for cellulosic browning and then clean it to Australian Standard 3733. In 22 hours, the two dehumidifiers recovered in excess of forty one (41) litres of water from the carpet, slab, walls, furniture, etc;... Carpet is fully dry & no odour. Customer is happy & could not believe that it could be dried so quickly.

13.01.2022 Looking to purchase LEATHER FURNITURE IN CAIRNS? I would STRONGLY urge people to stay well away from furniture sometimes sold as leather, BUT, to those in the k...now, we call it PU (Polyurethane), also called Bicast or Bycast & quite a few others. Most, if not all, of these faux leathers will have a fabric backing on them, as seen in the first two photos which is a leather lounge, however, it has vinyl side & rear panels. The pink areas (in the store), were once the same colour red as the wear areas, after a couple of years of in home use, the colour degraded to the pink. The other pics show what can happen to imitation leather in the tropics if not maintained properly. The next three brown photos show the seating disintegrating when only seven months old. The pieces on the sink top, literally peeled off of the furniture, not unlike sunburnt skin. The final photos were taken when the furniture was less than a year & a half old & was then taken to the rubbish tip. Please, before you spend your money, ensure that you are buying quality, genuine leather. NOTE::: There are also comments next to some pics to explain what has happened & where. 11.01.2022 We also travel far & wide to clean carpet, oriental rugs as well as furniture & sanitise mattresses. This was a very special trip for us as when we were finished with cleaning, we had time for a bit of R & R.

07.01.2022 Got a call to attend a very awkward job in one of Cairns Premier hotels this week. Holiday tenants had decided to have a few too many drinks and squirt cooking oil over the carpet adjacent to the front/kitchen & main living area. We were able to remove it all with no damage to the carpet & the property was able to be let the next day.... The agent was ecstatic, said it "looked awesome" & called me "a legend". Its just what we do, and enjoy doing. Pic 1 shows the original damage. Pic 2 shows initial treatment to neutralise the oil. Pics; 3 & 4 are after we have treated, cleaned & rinsed the areas concerned, leaving the carpets in the correct pH level. 02.01.2022 Attended a water damage yesterday in a VERY cluttered storage room full of furniture. By the time I moved most of the furniture that was salvageable to a dry area, I started to set up my drying equipment when the power went off. :-( Finally got power back on again, set up the rest of my equipment & secured the building and set the alarm.... Ever been in a room with no power for the ONE ceiling fan, no air conditioning and very high humidity due to wet carpet ?? I tell you, its not an experience many want to try. ;-) Got to my next job and realised I had not taken any pics. :-( Ah well, Im due back there in a couple of hours, so a few pics to follow. One note re; this room, the carpet is very old, it is now also a very much packed store room, and the owners do not want the carpet cleaned, just dry. We can do that. ;-)
