25.01.2022 Great news Darties. Our Covid safe plan has been approved. Singles start this Monday night. Thank you to all that have emailed registrations or contacted me with their preferred night/s of play. A detailed post will be done in the next few days and those who emailed will also be receiving some info/guidelines. We are back

25.01.2022 To all members Covid-19 has affected all aspects of our lives, sport, industry, education, tourism etc On the Qld road map to lifting restrictions, our club will possibly be able to start up with limits in place. ... As of the 12th of June, Non-contact indoor sport will be able to proceed with a limit of 20 people. By that time, we will be 10 weeks behind for Wednesday night league. To get back into the swing of things, Cairns & District Darts Assoc will be running round robin singles only nights. Starting Monday the 15th of June, there will be singles only Monday and Wednesday nights. This will require registration or your preferred night to play. 20 players max via email [email protected] The club will still need to have some restrictions in place: 1. 20 people max in club each night players only. Sorry no spectators 2. Sanitiser to be used on entry to the club and each time you come back in the door 3. Be sure to wash your hands after using the bathroom 4. Maintain a 1.5m social distance Boards will be set up to be able to do this, including where the scorer stands 5. No handshaking, hugging, high 5’s or kissing 6. Sanitiser will be available at each table and at the bar 7. At this stage, supper will not be provided 8. Tables, chairs, and all high touch areas will be sanitised each night before and after play This will run till further restrictions are lifted hopefully on the 10th July To nominate a night please send requests to [email protected] by the 12th of June. Do not nominate on this post. Only nominations will be accepted by email. If there are not the full 20 players on either of the nights, those spots will be offered to players that may want to play both nights. 22.01.2022 Monday and Wednesday Night Singles! All nominations are in so just are few items that need to be addressed. *Entry is through the main doors. Please note this will NOT be an ... exit door. Exit door will be the door by the stage *Please use sanitiser upon entry. There will also be sanitiser on tables, and please please wash your hands after using the amenities. *You will need to sign a Covid-19 participation register when entering. Name, address and phone number. This will assist for contract tracing if necessary. *Club opening times are as per normal with games to start at 7.30pm. *Fees $7 per night. Members that have nominated are automatically on the list. Any late entries will only be accepted if numbers remain under 20 on site. Sorry no spectators. *No shaking hands, high fives or even elbow bumps. *The club has marked out the playing areas to keep safe distancing. It is important that we maintain the social distancing standard that has allowed us to return to play. If you are unwell with flu like symptoms cough, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath please stay home or see a doctor. If you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 or have been out of the country and have yet self-quarantined for 14 days on return please do not attend. We encourage everyone to download the Covid-safe App and follow the guidelines that have been put in place to allow our club to start up again. Have a great game!!

11.01.2022 Hello all, It is with much disappointment that I have to announce that the Six players from the CDDA who nominated in the team to play QRI competition to be hel...d in Townsville this year will not be able to play due to the QRI already having 14 teams registered to play . How these teams registered is not known , when these teams registered is not known and to whom these teams registered is not known, as my questions to the QRI fell on deaf ears and all my correspondence through the QRI darts FB page have mysteriously been deleted. I have been informed that other clubs in Queensland have multiple teams travelling to Townsville to play however Cairns cannot get 1 team in. I would like to apologise to all our players who were keen to play in this comp and good luck to the couple of Cairns players who were asked to fill the QRI team who couldn’t find players..... 04.01.2022 Hello All , just so everybody who was not at the club last night when it was announced Vincent(ME) has stepped down as club president after 5 years of service to our great club. I will now be concentrating on my darts, I will no longer be part of the management committee or working committee. I will be providing an official written letter of resignation for Carolyn Henderson to present to those who turn up to the next committee meeting to be held on Wednesday night 24th February . Thank you too the members of CDDA and the other Zone clubs who have supported me throughout my tenure as President.
