14.01.2022 Tonight should have marked the close of the Cairns & District Junior Eisteddfod. Sadly we couldn’t hold most of the event this year. The committee would like to thank everyone for their continued support. This event wouldn’t be possible without the participants, parents, teachers, volunteers and our wider community. In the coming months the committee will be meeting elect a new executive committee, discuss how we can raise much needed funds to be able to continue the event ...and commence planning for 2021. The committee meets once a month and I encourage you to consider becoming an active member of the association to ensure its continued existence and growth. It has never been more important that we have a creative arts industry in our community. Just think of those movies you watch whenever your feeling down and can recite all the lines. That song you can’t stop humming or reminds you of a special time. That play that stays with you and challenges you to think differently. That music that energises and motivates you to get up and dance. That tv show that you and your friends love to chat about every week and can’t wait for the next episode. That ballet that allows you to escape for a little while and takes you on a beautiful journey. I can’t imagine life without them. Can you?

The Literary sections will still go ahead. A reimbursement of 90% of entry fees will commence as soon as possible and entrants will be notified by email. ...
