25.01.2022 | The Northern Pride are excited to announce their first female enrolment in the new Cairns Academy of Sport (CAS) Northern Pride Program, set to launch on 1 ...February 2021. | 18-year-old Kaiyla Ward will train in a full time rugby league environment, whilst studying a Certificate II in Engineering Pathways at TAFE Queensland. | At only 17 years of age, Kaiyla was the youngest member of the NQ Goldstars team and debuted in their first and only game last season. She is not only an incredible athlete but a strong role model. She is passionate about showing women in the region that there is a pathway for them into the NRL. | Kaiyla will also be a part of the Northern Pride U19s Womens Team which will compete in a regional competition against the Mackay Cutters and Townsville Blackhawks.
