23.01.2022 Important announcement!! We will be having a meeting next week, 22nd of september at 5.30pm. Most likely at headpsace in town, corner of grafton and spence st. ...This meeting is for all people who are would like to be In our commitee. The paper work for incorporation will be done on this day. We will be choosing a treasurer and Secretary and other board member. There has to be a minimum of 7 people in total. I will be creating an event on this page and sharing it. Please let us know through the event post if you are able to come. Feel free to share this post and the event to your own page and any relevant pages. Tim

23.01.2022 Morning. Sorry for the lack of updates this last week. We had our meeting last Thursday, which we got to see some new faces. Lots of ideas are being discussed lately. With a particular attention to the Edmonton area. Before our next meeting Patricia will be heading out to edmonton over the next few weeks to have a chat to the families in the neighbourhood. Anyone in the edmonton/bentley neighbourhood specifically who would like to chat with us about there concerns, would li...ke to offer the productive opinion or chat to us in general feel free to contact us. And of course any other neighbourhoods in the cairns region if you would like to come forth we are all ears. As my life personally has become a little busy recently, if you would like to have a more active role and be able to post on our wall relevant info, send me a message. The more relevant information we have going out to families in need the better. (Without overwhelming them)

17.01.2022 Good evening everyone. So it's this time of the year again where it goes all silly with xmas. Our lives get busier and so does everyone else. Unfortunately due to this I haven't been able to maintain contact with the site as much as I had like to. With xmas fast approaching I doubt I'll be able to do much more this year before xmas on this site. However I do plan to put a big extra effort into this cause again next year after my holidays until the 22nd January. I'll be out o...f town til then. I've spoken to a few people and I'd like to hit 2017 running with our causes. I've noticed there has been 1 or 2 other people trying to start groups recently with the youth crime issue being the goal. However we seem to have more of a positive approach then what has been written on facebook so far. (Not judging of course). I've spoken to Zane Cosgrove recently and we are keen to have a meet up in the new year as soon as we can and the holidays season dust settles. I'm looking for any other people like himself and I, who are keen to keep the wheel turning in finding positive solutions to our youth issues, inclusive of the effect it has on the families too. 17.01.2022 Just a reminder to everyone about this great event coming up on the 15th of july. There is plenty of entertainment for the family and all for a great cause. I will be down there all day with many other great volunteers so please come down and support this event.

17.01.2022 Good morning everyone, sorry for the lack of posts over last few weeks. We have Had a really busy few weeks and coming into xmas it will get busier. I know that xmas can be an extremely tough time of year for lots of families. There's some families out there who rely on the food hamper system. And of course there's families who always donate to this great cause. Carols by candlelight is on the 11th of December. This of course brings many families into the city and is enjoyab...le night for all. However I was thinking and it's very late notice possibly trying to create a family community Christmas BBQ, possibly put in the southern suburbs, as many families in the lower income bracket may have trouble getting into town as things can be tough this time of year. I'd love to have an event where all families, with different cultures and more can come together. We can introduce ourselves officially to the community and gives us a good stepping stone to break walls, show the community who we are, show them we are just everyday people trying to make cairns feel like a community based town as it is. Some ideas from individuals, small businesses and more. With ideas of: Location Type of event Types of activities Who can volunteer some time for one night Small business who maybe be able donate food, entertainment such as music, games, recreation And much more. There will be families or individuals out there who may feel alone, which can make it very very tough on them. Having a carols by candlelight is good a idea, however it's not necessarily going to benefit the families and individuals which truly struggle emotionally, psychology and financially at this time of year.

The former Lotus Glen corrections officer has opened a dedicated men’s counselling service, Fixit Counselling, at Manoora with the aim of filling a gap in men’s mental-health support in the Far North.... Her clinic, at first glance, appears more like a shed, with a bar table and stools, a toolbox cabinet, a bar fridge and a darts board, with no wind chimes or incense in sight."

I want to say a special thanks to both Patricia and Zane for the extra work they have put in the last couple of weeks. In helping spread the word about our next meeting. 03.01.2022 We haven't had a family BBQ recently as a social gathering for a while. I am personally free 29/30th october, would love to hear some ideas of where a good place for a family is? We have done, pirate park, esplanade and goomboora park. The beaches are also a possibility aswell before it gets too hot.

02.01.2022 To all new people and other who have been around for a while. Unfortunately due to a hectic few months I haven't been able to organise much recently. However I was wandering if there is anyone who would like to make a difference, who have a bit of spare time here and there to help take the reigns of this page. And begin organising events, create ideas. Anyone can help out send me a message personally or post on here. We are looking for passionate people who want to make a difference with the issues families, kids and teens are getting themselves into and more. We do have a small group of respected community members who are involved. Please let me know if u can volunteer some time.
