22.01.2022 The Cairns Baseball League has always been very competitive. The teams always give 100% on the field and battle it out with a keen hunger to win. We are also a big family and this week we lost one of our own. Steven Landsberg, a loving husband, father, teacher and family member also loved baseball. And baseball loved him. Steve is most recently known as an umpire and for being instrumental in running the CBL Umpires association but over the years he did it all. He played, coa...ched, took school teams away and was always there when we needed him. On the field he always had a hunger to win but his love of the game and hunger to learn and teach the game helped him bring everyone together and make baseball better in Cairns and around the state and country. He will be dearly missed and was taken from us too young but the field of dreams got lucky with him. Thank you for all you gave us Steve, the passion, the friendship and the laughs. We miss you mate and will never forget. See more
