09.01.2022 High Tea at "Cairnsmore": How lucky were we when the High Tea was blessed with cool weather? It was a mammoth team effort with four courses of delectables being... served throughout the afternoon. A special thanks was made to Catherine and Vic Turrin for making their splendid home, "Cairnsmore", available to us. We also appreciated the background music provided by Robert Smith, it was very enjoyable. Bev Irwin organised the raffle, the major prize being won by Lucky Five Jenny Akers. Second prize winners were Tracy and Patty Middlebrook, and third prize was won by Donna Woodlands. Thank you to Chic and Antiques, Catherine Turrin and Bev Irwin for donating the prizes. To our patrons, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and thank you for the support of the Hall. It is that grass roots support that is transforming the Hall into a functioning commercial venture, Bruce.

08.01.2022 Catherine Turrin and an enthusiastic band of volunteers hosted a very successful Biggest Morning Tea at "Cairnsmore" today to raise funds for the Cancer Council. A delicious morning tea, raffles and an auction of beautiful donated items, many of them handmade locally, were enjoyed by the gathering.

02.01.2022 Relive our wild bushranger past at Cairnsmore at Dungog Festivals Long Lazy Lunch Come enjoy a lazy hazy Spring day in the grounds of the grand historic home...stead of Cairnsmore, on the outskirts of Dungog, robbed by a wild gang of bushrangers in 1839. Highlight of the Dungog Festival, The Long Lazy Lunch, is back again by very popular demand on 1st October 2018 the October Long Weekend. Back in the days when the mail was delivered once a week by horseback, one of the Hunters most famous Gangs, was terrorising the countryside from their lair up in Pilchers Mountain, just 5 km south of Dungog. Ed Davis and his gang of juvenile bushrangers wore jaunty yellow scarves and trendy clothes and were famous for their courtesy while taking on a robbery. Cairnsmore was robbed by the Ed Davis Gang in 1839. Some of the stolen goods were found hidden under a rock in a cave when one of the Gang was apprehended. The full story of the gangs wild years of bushranging will be told during lunch. But back to the present... gourmet picnic hampers include Beautiful homemade quiches, sausage rolls, salmon maisie breadstick, chipolatas followed by various yummy slices for sweets. Buy drinks at the bar and/or help yourself to complimentary hot beverages. Grab a spot on the grass or set yourselves up at any of the tables and chairs on the verandah or under the trees in the gardens. Kick back, listen to some local music and enjoy the company of great friends in beautiful surrounds, at this years Long Lazy Lunch. The Gang which robbed Cairnsmore and other places around the Dungog area were finally hanged on 16th March 1841, but dont miss hearing their story told by local raconteur, Tom Boorer. Book now and dont miss out! https://www.dungogfestival.com.au/whats-on/lll/ Proceeds to Dungog Show and Dr Teo Brain Surgery.
