11.01.2022 The fourth trimester is the 12-week period immediately after you have had your baby. Not everyone has heard of it, but every mother and their newborn baby will ...go through it. It is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby adjusts to being outside the womb, and you adjust to your new life as a mum. It's not an easy time and you can be brutally honest with your obstetrician... Most of us have been there! https://bit.ly/33Tyehc #pregnancy #postnatal #postnataldepression #postpartum #postpartumjourney #obstetrician #obgyn #adelaideobstetrician

11.01.2022 Perinatal mental health is too often shrouded in stigma. Becoming a new parent is 'supposed' to be a time of great joy, and of course, it is. It can also be ch...allenging, and for many, it is not always picture-perfect. For any expectant or new parent who has felt that they can't speak up about the reality of their experience... "We're here, we're listening". We invite you to share your story if you can relate to today's theme for Perinatal Mental Health Week 2020. #pmhw2020 #perinatalmentalhealth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

10.01.2022 Public Health Alert: Queensland Following the announcement of a case of Covid-19 in a staff member in a Victorian quarantine hotel, Queensland is monitori...ng the situation closely and awaiting more information from Victorian health authorities. Anyone who has been in Greater Melbourne since January 29 and arrived into Queensland should come forward and get tested even if you do not have symptoms and isolate until they receive a result. We also ask those people to check the Department of Health and Human Services website www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/case-locations-and-outbreaks-covid-19 regarding the venues of concern. Advice from Victoria is that people who have been in those venues of concern should isolate for 14 days. Please follow that advice if you are in Queensland. If you’ve been to any of these venues, please call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84). As a precaution, we will be restricting visitors to vulnerable facilities including aged care, hospitals, disability accommodation and corrective services. You can find a list of testing clinics at www.qld.gov.au/covid19testing There is no decision at this time to close the border but we are asking Queenslanders to reconsider travel to Victoria.

01.01.2022 Great app that our fabulous midwife Jill has found - we all like a drink occasionally, but when breast feeding, this becomes a bit fraught as alcohol does find its way into breast milk - "Feed Safe" let's you know timing a drink and the amount of alcohol that will be in your milk, as well as how long until its cleared - and it's been developed with the Australian Breast Feeding Association, so very reputable! Check it out at the app store - https://apps.apple.com/au/app/feed-safe/id799266384 and be sure and let us know what you think about it
