20.01.2022 A good tip from Morgan, he did this with me on the court a couple of years ago and I was staggered to discover I simply couldn't follow the ball with my left eye, that's why you'll find me choosing the left hand court so most of the ball come to my right side. Thanks Morgy!

13.01.2022 Pickleball is a mixture of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played on a badminton-sized court (quarter of a tennis court) over a low tennis net with a paddle twice the size of a ping pong bat, and a whiffle ball. It is a game for all ages which started in the US in 1965 and is now the fastest growing sport in the world. Children between 10 and 16 may join in but MUST have a parent or guardian on court with them.... Our FREE Alien Pickleball Come, Try and Play Day on August 8th at Cardwell Tennis Courts invites you to come and give it a go. If you are between 10 and 16 you will need a parent or guardian with you on court. YOU NEED TO DRESS AS AN ALIEN IF YOU CAN! ALL EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED AND MUST BE RETURNED TO THE LIONS HALL AFTER USE. What the day will include: hour sessions on one of 5 pickleball courts. You may select up to 4 x hour slots There will be no more than 4 players on each court. For the 2 learning courts, 4 players plus 1 coach will be maximum Beginners will be taught by a certified Pickleball Instructor and/or 3 other Volunteer instructors for half an hour and will then graduate to another court for their first real game Players who are not beginners, may choose their own groups Beginners will be grouped either in famiies, or similar ages, or kids together with parents or guardians There will be a list of registered players on a board together with their skill levels (2.0 for absolute beginners to 4.0 for experienced players) 2 @ 6m x 3m marquees with chairs will be available for players waiting for courts or enjoying refreshments Please wear tennis shoes or court shoes. Thongs, sandals or bare feet will NOT be allowed on court. Sunscreen, hats and water are a must The Lions Club will offer a sausage sizzle with sandwiches and drinks available for purchase at the Lions Club Hall which is next to the tennis courts If it is raining on the day, the Pickleball Come & Try event will NOT TAKE PLACE. I am truly thankful to all my support...ers and the friends I have made who enabled me to poll about 350 votes in a town I only moved to 6 months ago. I came third out of 5 and we now have a new face for Division 1 new councillor and a new council. I am filled with hope for our region now and gratitude for everyone! See more
