20.01.2022 Our Club lost a very dear friend and active Scope Member Rosa Powell on the 3rd July 2020. Members attending Rosa's funeral were proud to form a Guard of Honour as the Hearse left the Chapel. Rosa joined Scope in 2003 and during her years was Action Director for 4 years and was also the Tellascope Reporter in 2015 and 2016. Rosa also enjoyed ensuring that Members did not have all work and no play and helped with arranging Social activities. Our sincere condolences to husban...d Ron - We are all here for you Ron and we know you were a great support to each other. Another Group that Rosa was very involved with was the Rondo Theatre and I have their permission to share just some of her activities with them. I know you will enjoy reading about them too Rosa was a dedicated and accomplished thespian and has been a member and supporter of the Rondo Theatre for 10 years, first joining for "Calendar Girls". She has played in several roles in Rondo Theatre productions. Her most recent being her wonderful performance as Nanny in "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon-Marigolds" Rosa joined Ipswich Little Theatre and Ipswich Choral Society after leaving school and has been involved in theatre and musical comedy both in Australia and overseas including Sunnybank Variety Theatre, Butter Box Theatre and Brisbane Light Opera Group. An accomplished choralist Rosa was an active member of the CWA choir before it disbanded and has also participated in early Cairns Choral Society productions. Rosa has also been invaluable backstage at the Rondo as Stage Manager on many occasions, helping at the Box Office and as a committee member and Secretary. .
