24.01.2022 Recently multi-disciplinary artist Brian Robinson spent an afternoon with Year 11 Visual Art and ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER STUDIES classes. Brian is best know in Cairns for his Woven Fish and Reef Guardian public art work on the Cairns Esplanade. He shared his art practice story, in particular how he blends traditional Torres Strait imagery with Western Art history and pop culture references. It was particularly interesting for the art students who had to respond to his work in their year 11 art exam. This lead to many questions!

The other team had standout players we had standout teams. Too many top class efforts and performances to single any one out. Kyle Messner still undefeated as CSHS Coach!!!! Look out Wayne Bennet.

As a final product of our study, students have prepared a Ninja house model plan such as diorama model house, a digital house model (3D) or house plan. Then they have presented their ...Ninja house in Japanese language. The exemplified diorama model houses were selected to display at The Consul General of Japan, Cairns office. Mr. Uchida, the Director of Consul of Japan is happy for CSHS students and families to visit their office to view the display. The languages department appreciate to Mr. Uchida and the staff from the Consul of Japan for their kind support since 2019. The following students’ product are selected for Ninja House, 2020 display.
