14.01.2022 Know your product. As stone is becoming increasingly popular its important to know where the stone you buy comes from. Stone from international destinations has an unkown orign not only as an environmental footprint in regards to how its extracted, but also the impact that extraction process has on peoples who live in the immediate areas or work in the extraction process. ... There are reputable international stone exporters but.. Some countries that exports stone to Australia may not share our moral compass or environmental values. Once extracted you need to ship it to Australiat and again transport it to its final destination. Huge amounts of transport requirements. Why do we export stone to Australia, a country that has more than enough quarries and stone to take care of all our construction needs? Because its cheap... That usually means huge shortcuts in the extraction, production and processing process. Someone has to pay for cheap exported products. Next time you want to purchase stone products question its country of origin and the principles they abide by. Know your product. Buy Local... support local Anywhere in Australia is local.
