Residents are reminded of changed road conditions associated with the IRONMAN Cairns Asia Pacific Championship event on Sunday 27 September. Road Closures this Weekend ... PORT DOUGLAS: The town of Port Douglas will operate under normal traffic conditions this year due the shortened course. Competitors on the cycle leg will only travel along the Captain Cook Highway as far north as Trezise Road where they will then turn around and head back south. The Captain Cook Highway will be closed to all traffic between Trezise Road at Mowbray and Veivers Road Palm Cove between 5.30am and 3.30pm. Did you know the Litoria gracilenta (Graceful or Dainty tree frog), green above and yellow below, is commonly heard in leafy suburbs and in the rainforest around our region in FNQ.
