25.01.2022 A note from Mayor Bob Manning on why Rhonda Coghlan is his pick for Cairns Unity Candidate for Division 8. "As the Mayor of Cairns for the past 8 years and the leader of the Unity Team, I want to introduce you to the best person to represent you in Division 8 for the next four years. Rhonda Coghlan is a down-to-earth true ‘Cairnsite’ who’s not afraid of hard work and making her voice heard to ensure that Division 8 continues to reap the benefits of a strong Unity Team-led Cou...ncil. This is a Council that has consistently delivered low rate rises and more than $1 billion of works in the last terms of office. Over the past four years in Division 8, Unity’s Jessie Richardson has championed an extensive range of works that have transformed the foreshores of Holloways Beach and Yorkeys Knob, given the people of Machans Beach the protection of a new seawall, and rolled out new playgrounds, footpaths, kerb and channel, major road upgrades and much more. Rhonda will pick up that baton from Jessie and run with it to continue to deliver even more in the next four years as part of a new Unity-led Council. She is a genuine person who listens, does what she says she will do, and is prepared to put the hard yards in to make Division 8 an even better place to live. Think carefully before voting on March 28 to ensure that you choose the person who will be a champion for your communities someone who talks straight and will back it up with results. Rhonda is an outstanding candidate that deserves your vote on polling day. She will not let you down." (Authorised by R.
