25.01.2022 Bright, pretty cakes this weekend. I even found fresh (imported) peonies! It's obviously summer somewhere in the world just not here ;)

25.01.2022 Cake Chemistry is going floral! I'm excited to share that Cake Chemistry is expanding to include cut flowers :) Of course this will be a gradual process as we transform our mini farm of a backyard into a cut flower garden, but we're hoping by late spring/early summer to have some beautiful blooms to add your fresh flower cakes and accompanying arrangements. Peonies, dahlias, cosmos, zinias,David Austin roses, poppies, anemonies and ranunculuses just to name a few (fingers cr...ossed!). Our biggest challenge will be keeping the array of creatures, some of whom I've yet to identify having only their midnight howls and screeches to go by, away from our floral crops! Here's the first phase of our garden transformation. A big thanks to my off-sider/delivery man/hubby for doing all the structural work. All I had to do was the digging, planting and hauling a tonne of cow poo from our driveway down the back! See more

24.01.2022 Fun cakes this week. I love that I make cakes for dentists, doctors, pharmacists (of course ;)), the super fit and diet conscious! As I say, it's ok to celebrate special occasions with a little something sweet. It's all about moderation and self control :) Have a wonderful week all. Spring is definitely in the air today

24.01.2022 It seems things are slowly picking up again as we're all seeing a light at the end of the Covid tunnel! There may not be grand scale weddings or over-the-top milestone birthdays but there definitely is a hint of celebration in the air :) Phew!

23.01.2022 It's been a relaxing couple of weeks post Christmas. Just a couple of cakes. Both lovely designs for which I can't take the credit, inspired by online images. My creative brain is having a summer break but I still enjoyed the process :)

19.01.2022 I hope you all managed to survive the heat over the weekend! I have to say, delivering a three tier, fully ganached cake when the outside temp was approaching 40 degrees was slightly nerve racking! We made it though and this lovely rose gold highlighted cake hopefully enjoyed a nice cool reception :) I've also included another wedding cake from a while ago with gorgeous flowers added by the florist.

17.01.2022 I was going to say "can you spot the cake?" but I think it's fairly obvious hehe... I did have a red hot go with this Australian Museum cake though :) It was a bit of a project but I really enjoyed it and am super excited to have been commissioned to create it. I had some other things more up my alley this week too :)

I'm putting it down to the summer of '69 ;) It's so good to see people being able to celebrate properly again. Now I just need some wedding cakes to pay the mortgage and school fees haha! xx

I'm sure that glimmer of sunshine on Saturday morning brightened the day for one gorgeous bride and another little rainbow party girl :) The wedding cake flowers were by White House Flowers in Sydney and looked just stunning on my Earl Grey tea and caramel mud wedding cake :)

My Petite 'Isolation' cake range is now available! If you're like me, you know deep down nothing is going to stop a celebration even if we do have to scale it waaaay back! :) I have a lovely mini semi naked cake, stunning gold chard cake and hugs and kisses cake to suite just such occasions. * F...resh flowers $90 (5 inch diameter). * Chocolate shard and hugs and kisses $105 (5 inch diameter) We've also got to have a laugh. Of all the things people could chose to hoard, toilet paper and pasta?! Here are some cakes to make you smile :) I love that this very cool little 5-year-old has bucked the trend and gone for a slamming rock star cake! I absolutely loved making that one!! Not to mention a pretty fresh flower cake for a very special 18th :) xx

03.01.2022 Just one cake this weekend for the most delightful customer. I hope her hubby had a wonderful 97th birthday :) Also lovely flowers added to one of my wedding cakes by the Kelvin Hall crew in Turramurra. Just a few pics of my own cut flower garden coming along nicely with the first peony rose popping it's head up at the end of winter :) Also some proof I'm on my own floristry journey trying to perfect my bouquet making skills... still a little way to go but I'm having a ball getting there with the most amazing teachers and classmates at Ryde TAFE. I never want it to end!!
