25.01.2022 This one was made for a Greater Springfield event. The only stipulation was it had to be emerald green and white. Opaque white isomalt sail . When I make these types of Cakes with this style of finish on the side (using coloured ganache), I use my opposite hand to apply the different layers as it gives me a more random finish. 25.01.2022 Work in progress. Almost done painting my Sons 14th birthday cake.....for tonight . The cake is a rectangle and this painting will be cut and placed on the front. This is Ajani, Mentor of Heroes from Magic The Gathering. I paint on fondant using petal dust and vegetable oil to allow easy blending as it takes longer to dry. If I need a part to dry quickly I mix the petal dust with Rose Spirit.... 13.01.2022 I absolutely LOVED making this all ganache cake. From the height (2 tiers tall to look like a single tier), the pale concrete look, color scheme and layering the colors, the hand painted eye.... but most of all it was my first EVER attempt at an isomalt sail. They are fast to make compared to its tempered chocolate cousin but tricky to remove from the mat as their delicate. But LOOK at it. ...sigh!
