24.01.2022 A dear friend requested a cake for her son’s communion. First time with this theme for me. Enjoyed putting this together, hoping I did justice to the religious elements. The cake, vanilla layered with strawberry flavoured white chocolate ganache, handmade fondant decorations and edible pearls for the rosary. Vanilla cupcakes, vanilla buttercream with matching holy cross toppers.

I had free reign on the design of course and was happy with the final product as was the birthday girl The cake, chocolate flavour layered and covered in white chocolate ganache. Decorated with fresh flowers, macarons, sails and accented by gold leaf and a deckled edge.

16.01.2022 This was one creation which took me to my limits as a baker. The baking gods and Aussie weather combined were definitely against me on this one. On days when nothing is going as planned yet you have a deadline and when something simple that’s been done easily so many times just isn’t working that day, there’s nothing left to do than to breakdown. My client was absolutely amazing and told me what I needed to hear to get this across the line. The cake is far from perfection. I wish I could make it again. The journey on this one I’ll never forget
