18.01.2022 A slice of heavenly medovik otherwise known as the Russian honey cake. I made this cake for the first time for my husband’s birthday. He was born in Ukraine and I wanted to make him an Eastern European dessert. It has 8 honey layers made from dough that was individually rolled and baked. After that, the cream is made from sour cream, whipped cream and icing sugar. 12.01.2022 Testing out a new method for making macarons. Even though I’ve had success with macarons in the past, I’ve found some of my batches turn out with hollow shells which is a common problem. Most customers may not notice but it bugs me! Aiming for perfection is a continual struggle with macarons. This time I tried Mimi’s french method, and success! Full shells! #macarons #frenchmacarons
