24.01.2022 After an announcement from the Chief Medical Officer of the Federal Government today recommending cancellation of events with 500+ people, the Brighton Sunday M...arket Committee, along with Brighton Secondary School representatives have decided to cancel the following markets: 22 March 2020 12 April 2020 (Easter Sunday) In the meantime, a small produce-only market will run on Sundays on a weekly basis in the rear carpark from 7am until midday, as will be well under the 500 person recommendation. Of course this also will be subject to updates on the COVID-19 situation and recommendations by local, State and National health authorities. We will follow the situation closely and make an announcement on upcoming Brighton Sunday Markets in April. Thank you for your understanding. Our market patrons and volunteers, plus local and school community’s health and well-being are our top priority. Please stay safe and look after yourselves and one another, we will see you all soon

03.01.2022 WHERE HAS CAKE WORKS BEEN ? 2020 has been a year like no other and many have struggled including Cake Works. We have been treading water waiting and hoping for our market to come back and still we wait. Then for me the unthinkable happened. I took a nasty fall and ended up with an undiagnosed radial distal break to my left wrist. This stopped Cake Works in it’s tracks and turned into a nightmare. After many Drs visits, a wrong brace, orthopaedic surgeon visits ,scans, X-ray...s ,skin reactions coupled with pain and frustration we wind forward to now. The brace is off and although my joints have seized, skin has shed, muscles wasted (yuk) my bone has dropped. I have been working really hard with massage, physio, and now an occupational hand therapist relearning to use my hand and with a lot of grit and determination I am making good progress. So I decided to add to my rehab the best way I know how. I PUT ON MY CAKE WORKS APRON AND I MADE BISCUITS. CAKE WORKS IS BACK.
