25.01.2022 It has been awhile since we last posted about our Wagyu herd, here they are grazing on top of the hill
24.01.2022 We are back in lockdown again but fortunately we are surrounded with good company
23.01.2022 Heavily pregnant Red Angus girls ready to calf soon
22.01.2022 This is an update of our post earlier about the cow who lost her twin calves. The kids have decided to name her Tina Tina looked depressed and was producing alot of milk. We then decided to get a bobby calf to let her raise instead of having to milk her to prevent mastitis. After just 2 days of assisting the calf to nurse from her, today we witnessed this and also saw the calf nursing on her own

19.01.2022 Although it is spring now, winter has decided to hang around alittle longer. It is really cold here this week

14.01.2022 Our bull calf and steers are enjoying a beautiful spring day. And we are also really glad that our lockdown is officially over tomorrow
14.01.2022 We found this heifer calf across the fence from her mum and managed to push her back. But when she is back, she ran away from her mum and her mum was frantically chasing after her. As we were not sure if she has drank yet, we decided to move them to the yard just to be sure. This is the first time we encounter a calf running away from the mum
12.01.2022 We moved our Red Angus girls to their calving paddock today. This paddock is not as hilly, near the yard and closest to us so that we can monitor regularly
11.01.2022 Red Angus bull in action
09.01.2022 Beautiful day, beautiful calf
08.01.2022 Our lives are so much easier because of Gigi, one of our lead cows, as she will always lead the herd where we want them to go. We made an exception not to cull her when she was empty in her first joining because of this reason and have not regretted the decision. She is a Red Angus cross Black Baldy and is one of our 2015 replacement heifers
07.01.2022 The dogs are enjoying a beautiful spring day #boerboel #southafricanmastiff
06.01.2022 What a beautiful evening!!! Spring is definitely in the air #gippsland #nofilter
06.01.2022 Today, we pulled out Spy from his herd after 8 weeks of joining. He will be going to his new home tomorrow in the alpine region where he will live out his next few years serving a few ladies in a more gentle terrain. While he will be greatly missed, we are glad that he is not going to the abattoir instead
06.01.2022 Proud mum of a newly born bull calf #wagyu
04.01.2022 Our calving season got off to a rocky start yesterday. We found this cow in the paddock not progressing in her calving process as normal, so we moved her to the yard to examine her and found out that the calf was in a breech position. We managed to pull the calf out and found that there was another calf inside. Unfortunately both calves did not make it but she is recovering well now. And the cold, wet and windy weather yesterday certainly did not help
04.01.2022 We are waiting "impatiently" for some calves to be born
04.01.2022 We weighed two of our Red Angus heifers at 12 months old and they have an average weight of 365kg. We are pretty happy with how they are growing
04.01.2022 This is Caramel, an Aussie Red cross and our future house cow. We have started to halter train her and she is doing really well
02.01.2022 Our Red Angus bull calves are 10 months old now. Look at how much they have grown, we can't wait to see their weight at 1 year old #redangus
01.01.2022 Well hidden and she actually thought we cannot see her
01.01.2022 Arguably, this is our best looking Red Angus heifer calf from last year with her mom behind her She is coming to 11 months old and weighs 292kg over a month ago
