03.01.2022 CEC had its AGM yesterday and we would like to welcome Samuel K Dawson (on right) back as our coordinator for 2020/21. A big thank you to Rhonda James (on left) for her role as coordinator for the past four years, she has overseen the CEC becoming a flourishing organisation. Her tireless work helping the Tweed Coast Koalas has been magnificent. Sam has committed a lot of his time to environmental works. Being involved with the Rocky Cutting Dam fight in 2007 and working on ...various projects since then Sam has demonstrated commitment and passion to the centre. The big campaign this year will be fighting the school closures, Sam says. While not exactly an environmental issue, it highlights the arrogant and secretive manner the state government has engaged in decision making, favouring interest groups over the community. This can be seen also in their capitulation to the National Party over the Koala SEPP. See more
