17.01.2022 BREAKING I welcome the announcement by the QLD Premier that QLD Health will establish a dedicated unit to deal with specialist appointments in a coordinat...ed and timely manner for those living in NSW. Key points from this mornings announcement: QLD will continue to keep their borders closed. QLD Health will establish a unit to deal with specialist appointments in a coordinated and timely manner. It will include a social worker as its a distressing time for families. QLD will not deny emergency treatment to people in NSW. QLD will not deny specialist appointments to people who need specialist appointments in QLD. QLD Health will set-up a hotline to coordinate with families in a timely manner, and then theyll be prioritised to the CMO. This coordinated response unit to be set-up by the end of the week to alleviate concerns. This is a step in the right direction and I hope it brings some peace of mind to Tweed Shire residents knowing that there will be a streamlined process for medical exemptions. *** I will update this post as further information becomes available *** You can view the announcement here: https://www.facebook.com/annastaciamp/videos/883933365467729/ Photograph: Jason OBrien/AAP
