12.01.2022 Las puertas del Museo de la Ciudad están abiertas de par en par. El centro histórico mayor y más vivo de Sudamérica está en Quito y es en este edificio, un antiguo hospital colonial, donde hoy se narra la peripecia vital de esta ciudad, ambicionada en la misma medida por españoles e incas. En el fondo oscuro del vestíbulo, me detengo a mirar largamente las blancas paredes centenarias del convento contiguo. Me siento cansado, y mis pies piden una tregua, cuando la figura de es...te hombre de lentos pasos completa finalmente la escena. El no lo sabe, pero yo se lo agradezco. // The doors of the City Museum are wide open. The largest and most lively historical center of South America is in Quito and it is in this building, an old colonial hospital, where today the vital experience of this city, ambitiously sought by Spaniards and Incas, is narrated. In the dark background of the hall, I stop to look at the white centenary walls of the adjoining convent for a long time. I feel tired, and my feet ask for a truce, when the figure of this slow-paced man finally completes the scene. 11.01.2022 Fabricante de destellos. Recuerdo que era luna llena y el aire palpitaba al son de cincuenta tambores. Malabaristas, bailarinas, magos y hechiceras ejecutaban su ritual de luz y fuego. Yo estaba en el suelo, atrapando todos sus colores.
