04.01.2022 Love it, some pretty simple old school advice. #Repost @plantpoweredsoul (with @report.for.insta) ... 1.) Start with simply sprouting seeds in mason jars (alfalfa, clover, radish,buckwheat, lentils, broccoli, Asian mixes, etc.) ... They are fresh living food that can be cultivated with no land space that are some of the highest nutritional, most enzymatic, and most economical crops to start off with. 2.) Move into micro greens with a 10x20 tray system and grow light/well lit window. Up your sprouts to the micro green stage and begin growing flat trays of nutritious micro greens still in your home without land space. 3.) Invest in smart pots and start a simple balcony/porch/step pot garden. Best bang for your buck and space allows you to grow in very nutrient the rich soil in small mobile spaces. 4.) Start with small raised beds, large smart fabric beds, or double-dig/tilled garden plots and grow gradually from there given your space. If you don’t have the land see if friends or family would make a trade off for the some of the food you produce. If not, check local land auctions for cheap plots of unused land that can over time be converted to urban garden plots. 5.) Along the way learn about properly preserving your harvest, building soil/composting, saving seeds and also incorporating local wild-foraged foods into the foods you grow. Grocery stores are luxuries. Don’t ever think a day couldn’t come when the shelves are dry and restaurants are closed.
