22.01.2022 The start of another small house. Concrete in before the rain!

21.01.2022 Here's what has been taking up our time at Calic Building the last six months. A lovely renovation of the upstairs space in a family home. Great design work by Green Design Architects. The clients have been lovely to work for, and I think the transformation of this pretty ordinary space into something beautiful and user friendly will make a difference to their lives at home. Enjoy the journey!

17.01.2022 A few more of the finished project. Special thanks to Bodo Lunstedt and Dave Fleming Joinery for the beautiful timber work. Hobart Floor Sanding finished the floors, and a big thank you to the guys at Professional Plastering for the care they took on the many angles and junctions.

17.01.2022 This is the smallest building I have designed and the first building I have designed that The Bearded Tradesman (my husband) has built! A delightful little garden folly from salvaged materials and celery top cladding yet to go on.

11.01.2022 A pretty little job! Storage draws under a bed. Lined with reclaimed hardwood fence palings, express jointed. From time to time a project comes along which requires some extra care and attention to detail.

09.01.2022 Second slab, blockwork, steel and floor frame

05.01.2022 So much work in one room! The clients on this job provided a clear and detailed diagram for each wall of the room (before they were scrunched up at the end of the work!). These plans clearly communicated the desired outcome and saved many conversations and questions regarding item locations and positions. Many decisions in this job needed to be made early, as a number of the items installed on the last day were relying on works completed in the first day. ... Hats off to a fine collection of tradesmen who worked together and around each other to complete this room. And to the patient clients, who moved out of their home for three weeks.
