22.01.2022 I welcomed the NSW Government’s commitment to keep swimmers safe by launching its Shark Observation Grants program to boost surveillance measures on our beach...es When it comes to our beaches , there is nothing more important to this Government and myself as the local member, than swimmer safety Surf Life Saving Clubs, Councils and other authorised applicants can apply before the closing date on December 11, 2020 This is a fantastic initiative, and I would hate to see beaches across the South Coast miss-out, so please, I encourage any organisation which can apply to do so For more information or to apply for a grant visit www.sharksmart.nsw.gov.au/shark-nets.

21.01.2022 Shoalhaven City Council promotes the benefits of pets and encourages responsible pet ownership through the provision of harmonious and equitable access to parks and open space for dogs and their owners. Dogs in the Shoalhaven are required to be on leash at all times EXCEPT when in an off leash area Click on the link below to download a copy of the guide which provides information for pet owners on the location and use requirements of Off-Leash areas in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.

19.01.2022 A day at Kinghorne Pt. Only a 5min drive from Utopia. There are thousands of crinoid stem fossils in all states of preservation in the rock platform. They tend to all point in a north easterly direction.

14.01.2022 RFS WORKING TO CONTAIN FIRE AT JERVIS BAY Multiple Rural Fire Service crews are working with National Parks and Wildlife staff to contain a blaze burning... inside the Booderee National Park at Jervis Bay. Firefighters are undertaking back burning operations in the area, which may cause more smoke to be visible. Those in the area near Wreck Bay Village and Jervis Bay Village should monitor conditions. 14.01.2022 And 'neath my feet an emerald rug Of Nature's carpet lay ; The lighthouse in the distance stood, The guardian of the Bay. A magpie warbled to the morn,... High up a leafy gum, And insects bright and many bees, Made music with a hum. The scent of gums from the bush Rose softly in the air, Oh lovely day ! Oh shining Bay, What scene could be so fair, Capt' Wilmott Ferryman who took holiday makers from Husk8sson to the Myola Spit in the 1930s.

12.01.2022 Interesting cloud formations over Jervis Bay lately.

09.01.2022 Download the latest Shoalhaven Pets on Holiday Guide on the link below from Visit Shoalhaven. 08.01.2022 A beautiful serene evening at Callala Beach with a rare Yellow bellied sea snake having a swim in the shallows on the northern end of Callala Beach. The snake was a tad too inquisitive. The pic of the snake is a stock photo. These sea snakes are usually associated with being pushed down from northern waters by big storm events.
