Wh...at to do if you find a turtle hatchling on a beach: Contact our hotline immediately: 0431 282 238. If you can stay with the hatchling until we dispatch a rescuer to your location-have your exact location ready. 02.01.2022 Emergency Update: Australian Floods. Extreme weather events like the floods we are currently experiencing can result in stress and shock for wildlife. We want t...o thank you all for your continued support and for calling our rescue line for advice. This allows us to help wildlife on the ground and attend rescues quickly. We have seen an overwhelming desire to support native wildlife during this time from the Australian community and wanted to give some tips on how to help. Many native animals are seeking refuge and are crossing roads and highways to get to higher ground including in urban areas. They may continue to seek shelter for some weeks due to habitat losses so please take extra care not only during the heavy rain but also in the days that follow. We have more information on how to respond to flood-impacted native animals on our website https://www.wires.org.au//nsw-floods-wildlife-assistance-a If you see native wildlife in distress, please call WIRES for advice on 1300 094 737 or fill out our ‘Report a Rescue’ form https://www.wires.org.au/rescue/report-a-rescue #AustraliaFloods #NSWFloods #WIRESWildlifeRescue
