18.01.2022 Newspaper update: Hi everyone, it's been a few weeks of organisation but from July 24 there will be a weekly newspaper covering our region's news (printed and o...nline). The Central Highlands Leader will provide news, sport and classifieds covering both the Emerald and Callide Dawson regions. This newspaper will include a 4-8 page section of Callide Dawson news, and I will be the Editor coordinating these pages. Then in early 2021 our region will have its very own newspaper, the Callide Dawson Leader. The Central Highlands Leader and Callide Dawson Leader will be affiliated with the Longreach Leader, a true independent newspaper that has been in publication since 1923. So when you get your copy of the Central Highlands Leader you'll be getting plenty to read: 24 pages of the Central Highlands Leader, 4-8 pages of Callide Dawson news, and from the following Friday, the 24-32 page Rural Leader newspaper will also be inserted. Happy days! So, I'm looking for regional correspondents to contribute photos and news; as well as regular columns; contributed news; school news; social news and sports news.
