23.01.2022 When you step outside your comfort zone miracles and magic can happen. We are programmed to recreate the familiar again & again because it’s safe and predictabl...e. When we jump outside that comfort zone we enable our subconscious mind to see that something entirely different is possible and even survivable. Even preferable! So try it! There is no better way to create a huge shift in your life (a miracle) than taking a big courageous step outside your comfort zone because that’s where tremendous growth and transformation occur. Just hold on tight and enjoy the ride! Art by Amandine van Ray See more

18.01.2022 This is a little bit of a read that touches upon the emotion of FEAR. It came about due to my interest in the underlying emotion behind much disease and many problems we all face, as well as a conversation with fellow students and some of those wonder filled moments you have in practice - this time with YIN/YANG INFINITY BALL. The founding principle of Taoism is that everything is in a state of constant change. Nothing is static, everything is in motion, in a state of vibrat...Continue reading

17.01.2022 The Power of Sound and Vibration ... it doesn't take much to imagine what sound is doing to you at a cellular level ...

16.01.2022 I know I have talked about the so-called still movements before - eg Hugging Tree and Holding Up Heaven. But I wanted to share with you a little experience I ...had a few months ago during Level 3 training when Master was here on the Gold Coast. During Level 3 one gets to dive deeper into the world of breath, mind and movement and to slooooow right down. When you are moving all the time the subtleties of what is happening in the body are lost. But when you have nowhere to go and nothing to do except BE WITH YOUR CELLS your senses are more acute allowing one to feel the subtleties of the bodies response to your very own Qi flow. And as we all know that comes from the mind as where the mind goes Qi follows. Ok so there I am in Hugging Tree with eyes gently closed, mind gently focused and what I believe is relaxed when after about 10 minutes or so I realise my body feels quite twisted. It’s as if I have this strong pull to the right. This pull I feel is literally Qi deviating from its path, building up and moving more to the right. Although it is quite normal to have one side more dominant than the other, most of us do, it is not good for creating a balanced body/mind connection. Staying with the still movements allows one to trace back the imbalance that was created in the mind, to trace it back to its roots, pull it out and release it. I suppose the hard part is controlling the mind. The importance being in quieting the monkey mind that calls you to abandon what you are doing and start moving. If for example you allow yourself to be distracted by bodily sensations you are training the mind to be disturbed. Well that’s just the monkey mind taking over - call upon your Wisdom Mind, stay patient, stay focussed and stay with the posture for as long as you can as this is when you really start to learn where you are holding tension, learning where you need to relax/let go, learning about the Yin/Yang of your own body/mind dynamics and ultimately peel back the layers and go deeper into the body/mind connection. Hold the form but learn to relax the muscles. Allow the fascia to relax downwards, this in turn allows you to sink down into your centre - the lower Dan Tian. It helps you to anchor your breath in the Lower Dan Tian. With the body now relaxed and grounded, that is out of your head, with the centre of balance in the Lower DT use the pumps to draw in Qi. The circulation/movement of Qi around the body will naturally hold the form up - not the muscles holding the form - and you will be able to stay in stillness for longer. Noticing the strong right side deviation for me was a big learning lesson/release. The funny thing was when I opened my eyes to check my stance I was not overly physically out of alignment. Yet internally I could feel how energetically my Yin/Yang imbalance was playing out. Sitting with it allowed me to peel back the layers of life that bought this excess into being - literally how my mind was involved in this distortion. Hence the importance of taking time to incorporate these still movements into your daily practice - to give yourself time to touch your cells deep, to sit silently in witness of the self. 10.01.2022 Why do we need Qigong if we sleep every night? Sleep is supposed to be the time when you rest and recover from each day and daily activity. Sometimes a Day in t...he Life can be like a Battle! It's also important to ask; Is it simply enough to get a lot or sleep or extra sleep to recover? The truth is, not all sleep is made equal! The quality of your sleep depends on the quality of your waking state; - Were you stressed during the day? - Did you have a lot to think about during the day and had many problems to solve? - When you got home did you argue with a family member? - In the evening did you bathe yourself in bright, white LED lights? - Did you stare at your phone or computer screen and let your eyes fall asleep being flooded by the artificial light? And also ask; - What did you do to calm your thoughts and emotions when it's time to rest? - What did you do to nurture a state of rest and recovery by creating an supportive environment that signals your body to enter deep sleep? If you relax before you go to sleep your sleep quality will be much better. Likewise if you go to sleep tense, your sleep will be tense. This is why Qigong exercises are designed to align body, energy and mind such that we learn how to enter a harmonic state at the end of the day. Even better; start the day with Qigong too! Start the day energised and end the day relaxed. Then you can do your daily deeds efficiently and empowered which leads to good sleep and good sleep leads to an empowered waking state. This is an example of Ying/Yang dynamics in daily life. Learn to enter a deep sleep (yin) state and then you can enjoy the benefits of a powerful (yang) waking state! The two perpetuate each other because yin leads to yang and yang leads to yin. This is why you need Qigong: because Qigong gives you the tools to live a better life whether awake of asleep! Are you making the most of the daily Yin/Yang cycles of your body? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- We invite you to learn how to Empower yourself! - Daode Qigong - https://www.daodeqigong.com/skype-consult-offer Live Online Qigong & Tai chi Classes via Skype Qigong System to Empower your Life and Learn Authentic Daoism: Daogong
