21.01.2022 RAA Regional Safety Grant recipients Callington Memorial Hall Inc recently were able to install safety equipment at the Hall using funds awarded from the grant. Upon completion of the installation, they have provided the following feedback to RAA: "People from the Show committee, Primary School Governing Council, Hall committee and Pantry Club have all seen it, and are very pleased. It makes our Hall a safer place for all users, and we all recognise that we would not have bee...n able to do it without RAA’s help. Thanks very much!" RAA’s Regional Safety Grants improve the lives of South Australians in regional communities and reflect our desire to enhance the safety and security of South Australia’s regional areas and communities. They also provide opportunities for the local community to implement a project, program or activity targeting local safety and/or security issues.

18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are having a Community Working Bee on Saturday 24th October at the Callington Memorial Hall between 10-2 pm and many hands make light work. The Callington Hall is community owned and is managed by a very small number of locals (we welcome more to join the committee) if that’s not your thing but you care about the Callington Hall please come along even for an hour? The type of things on the working bee list are as follows: General dusting, sweeping outside, we...eding behind the hall, some pruning, raking up some of the pinecones around the nature garden. Repaint of rear wall from Graffiti Pressure cleaning of concrete (algae and dirt) Ceiling paint inside the hall is peeling only needs a light sand and touch up (paint and sandpaper will be provided) If you can spare some time, we would love to see you there. Social distancing rules will apply, and you will need to bring gloves, gardening tools etc. The Hall has cobweb brushes and brooms Thanking you all in anticipation

13.01.2022 Some exciting things are happening at CPS with new lawn area at the front of the school Thanks to Simon Lambe, Paul, Todd and Luke. (Who smashed this out in thr...ee days you guys are the best! ) Todd has started The Nature Play Area and will be completed by the end of this week.Todd and I have also made some really cool things for the children to enjoy. I would like to personally Thank Taya Mcmurtrie & Zena Mcmurtrie for the pallets, Dale Oakford for cutting out the letters for the music wall and the mud kitchen (soon to be made)Carole Horne, Michelle Fowler , Renee Brown for your musical instruments (pots and pans) Suzanne who helped me paint the wall soon to be a mural (hopefully) also Brett Keast and Crowies for supplying me with some really cool paint! The Nature Play ground is going to be an amazing asset to Callington Primary School and I am so proud of the effort that has been put in so far, all this has been done in less than two weeks! 13.01.2022 It's that time of the year again! Our AGM will be held on Monday 11th February at 7.30pm in the Callington Hall. We are looking for new people to join our team and be involved in planning this great community event.

12.01.2022 Can you come & help plant trees along the Bremer on Sunday, 3rd June, from 10am - 12? Your help would be greatly appreciated. We have up to 300 plants to put in & guard. It's a lovely area & will look even better in 5 years time with these plants growing. Meet at the corner of Steele Rd & Hefford Dr, Callington at 10am. Thanks!

10.01.2022 The grant to RAA for safety equipment for the Callington Hall was successful. Thanks to the Pantry Club & the school for their letters of support. The defibrillator is now installed in the main Hall by the door to the supper room. The First Aid Cabinet is by the microwave with a 1st Aid poster up nearby.... A fire blanket is now by the fire extinguisher in the kitchen (by main entrance). A Very big Thank you to Rose Ashton for applying for the grant and Thank you to Andrew Leitch who did the installations. A great result for the hall and safety of the hall users.

We hope to put in 250 trees & bushes along the Bremer between the SE Freeway & the edge of Callington. Meet at the corner of Steele Rd & Hefford Dr. All plants & equipment supplied. The carpet looks brand new, stains are gone and it smells so clean. Please note if your child/ children attend CPS a note with payment form will be coming home on tues. Looking forward to another fantastic fundraiser.

01.01.2022 The Kanmantoo-Callington Landcare Group has a very successful working bee in the Nature Garden today. We did some weeding, raking, pruning, picking up rubbish as well as planting 25 native flowering plants. We also saw 2 new birds - a Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater and White-browed Babblers. Very exciting. We also found a large mistletoe plant - which means the lovely Mistletoe bird has visited. The Eucalyptus odorata that we planted 2 years ago are doing very well. In a few years time they will be a wonderful addition to the Garden.
