21.01.2022 A quick poll is a good poll: Like for "yes"... Comment to give reason. Would you like to see a ghost tour run by one of Callington Mill's most professional guides through Oatlands most haunted sites?

20.01.2022 We have really gone pink now! Callington Mill pink in support of breast cancer awareness and pink ribbon day, the town is really looking great, so many local businesses are supporting this great project. If you're passing Oatlands call in, if you're driving on the Midlands Highway at night don't forget to look at the Callington Mill... Well done Oatlands

20.01.2022 Like any grand old lady, Callington Mill sometimes requires a bit of a makeover. Over the next 2 weeks she will be getting the full "spa treatment". The sails will be removed, painted and adjusted, and the cap will also be painted. Along with a few other tweaks and adjustments, this will see her out of action for the next fortnight. We are also seeking volunteers to help paint the sails. If you would like to get involved please contact Brad Williams on 0418 303 184 or email [email protected] to register your interest. THE EXECUTIONER’S WALK Due to current maintenance being undertaken on Callington Mill, we are pleased to offer the following alternative on selected days: For 43 years, one of the most feared men in all of the British colonies was Tasmania’s hangman Solomon Blay. Plying his trade throughout the state, this public servant walked from his home in Oatlands to each place of execution, including Oatlands itself. During his time, 204 souls were launched into eternity. Callington Mill is pleased to offer this unique insight into the life of this fascinating man and his time. Join Tony, local historian and tour guide, on a walk through the streets of Oatlands trailing Blay’s footsteps. We invite you to see our staff for tour times. *Due to the nature and content of this tour, this walk may not be suitable for young children.

17.01.2022 We had a visit from 27 Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts. They ranged in age from 1911 to 1922. Sadly, we didn't get to keep any of them.

14.01.2022 So sad to see the old girl deteriorating under a "miller" who fears milling on the wind. Man up SMC and demand that the mill be used as she was restored for.

09.01.2022 New Menu Launching Tomorrow

01.01.2022 We shiver in anticipation as the sails are reinstated to the Callington Mill tomorrow. Due to this operation, we will be unable to offer tours on this day, but the visitor information centre will still be open for business as usual for souvenirs, information for tourists and locals, and the Millkeeper's Cafe will still be serving light meals, snacks, including our Callington Mill scones, and the best coffee and tea in the Southern Midlands. So drop in and watch the grand old... girl getting dressed... just don't make her blush. ;) See more
