Dion worked with both boys individually and gave them tips to improve their set up, swing and finish. 14.01.2022 "WHAT A DAY". I have been the CQ Junior Coordinator for a few years now. I have watched a lot of our juniors grow through the ranks of CQ Junior Golf. I have wa...tched tournament after tournament, the pride these juniors have being a part of CQ and their clubs. The sportsmanship and camaraderie that all of these juniors display is impeccable. All of you juniors are our future of golf here in CQ and I am so proud of everything you display on and of the course. For all of the parents, thank you so much for all you do to encourage all of the juniors on the course. You kind words and encouragement does not go unnoticed. To all of the Junior Coordinators, you guys are the life blood of junior golf and I appreciate and respect all of the hard work you all put in, not only on a weekly level, but for the opens you run. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. "2020 CALLIOPE JUNIOR OPEN" thank you to the Junior Committee, the starters, the cooks (the food was fabulous), the green staff, and all of the volunteers (sorry if I left anyone out). Today was a great success and you all deserve a well earnt rest. Thank you to all at Calliope Junior Golf Club & Calliope Golf Club. With play off's for Gross in 9 holes and C Grade boys, a 3 way count back for Nett Runner Up in 6 hole boys, plus the fabulous hole in 1 on number 8 for Sadie R, it has been a successful day. Congratulations to Declan Corke and Lily McGuiness our overall 18 Hole Winners. There was a play off in the 9 hole boys between Ryan Fenton and Aidan Delaney. Ryan came out with the win! Ryan has played in 3 play offs in the last 3 opens ( Miriam Vale, Gladstone & Calliope and has won all 3). Well done! There was also a play off in the 18 hole C grade Boys between Reid Beckett and Zane Blackborough. Zane taking the Win. Highlight of the day was Sadie Robinson getting a HOLE IN 1 on Hole 8. Well done Sadie. 05.01.2022 Sunday was our junior golf break up for 2020. What a crazy year it has been and Sunday was no different with the couple of much needed thunderstorms that dampened our plans. Not to worry though, we got a few putting and chipping comps in between the rain and a few games of quoits during the big downpour and of course the kids had a ball running around in the rain. Hope you all enjoy your Sunday morning sleep-ins for the next few months. ... Juniors; don’t forget to keep practicing at home and we will see you all again next year. Here are a few pictures.
