25.01.2022 As of next week therell be a few changes. Its so important that we are all proactive in doing everything we can to keep your children and families healthy, along with mine. Please do not send your child to care if they are unwell. I will send out a text to all families outlining the specific precautions and changes to expect over the weekend. It is also extremely important not to worry children, so hygiene, hand washing and health in general will be the focus of our educational programming over the next few weeks. This way, I am able to incorporate a difficult situation into a fun and rewarding learning experience for all. Thank you so much for your cooperation. Stay safe, healthy and happy

23.01.2022 Hi all, Thank you for coming to the Community Meeting in February about the new Callington Recreation Community Centre. The new Centre is about to begin Ten...ders for builders went out last week, and the builders will take control of the site on 4th November. The new Centre will include a large mixed-use space / dining for 120, outdoor viewing & eating, a large kitchen, a bar, a meeting room & indoor toilets. The bar will be moved to the change-rooms at the end of October. The expected cost is $887,000. We have raised most of this, but your support at this stage would be extremely valuable. There are 2 ways in which you could help: 1. We are selling bricks with names inscribed along the front of the building. Each brick costs $50 and will provide a lasting record of your support. The bricks are terracotta & will face the oval. See photo & form in the comments. The order for these bricks will CLOSE on 30th SEPTEMBER. 2. You could give a donation direct to the Callington Recreation Community Centre Building Fund - BSB 105-012 Acc 126419740. Please put your surname as a reference. 21.01.2022 What better to do on a Friday night than go out and wind down from a busy week at work? Well Callington has all you need to make that happen! We have the annual... Callington Halloween Disco over at the hall tonight from 6-9pm. Primary School age children can go over and have a fun night (see flyer for details) and Mums and Dads can either stay with them or venture over to the clubrooms across the oval and have a drink and some home made sausage rolls. We also have a meat raffle, supplied by Kanmantoo Bacon & Quality Meats. While you're over at the club, why not consider getting membership which gives you an amazing discount off your drinks? It's a win win for all and all proceeds from the disco, meat raffle and sausage rolls go towards funding our new building coming to you in 2020. Hope you can all come along. 20.01.2022 HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY CALLINGTON FAMILY DAY CARE!! Id like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the amazing support weve had over the last 4 years. Running a business is sometimes scary, challenging and unpredictable, but mostly its rewarding, exciting and, in my case, VERY entertaining! I literally have my own little comedy club here Monday to Thursday .. I have absolutely loved and adored every single little human thats walked through my door. I get the best ...hugs, the biggest smiles, the cutest laughs and some very in-depth life advice. To name a few .. Mandy, you need to drink more water so your face doesnt go like a sultana Mandy we cant eat these plums cause they look like bums .. you shouldnt eat bum plums! Mandy, if you run fast enough, you can teleport to the kitchen Next year is going to be a bit sad for me because I lose many of my originals to the big, exciting world of school. But Im lucky enough to have some of their younger siblings continuing on here, and I still get to see them and watch them grow up as the years pass. I have to say a massive THANK YOU to my own amazing kids, Cooper, Shayla and Ryder, for treating each child like a little brother or sister, picking up babies when they stretch out their little arms to them, hugging them, singing songs and dancing with them, playing games with all of the children, and for being so welcoming and truly happy to see them each day. I absolutely couldnt do this without your support Another amazing piece of the puzzle, my Mum and Dad, have become surrogate grandparents, which they love just as much as the children do. Their support has been unwavering since day dot And to my greatest supporters, my wonderful daycare families .. words just cant express how privileged I feel that you have included myself, and my family, into your lives, by entrusting me with your precious babies. I will always do everything I can to make sure they feel included, safe, loved and at home whilst here. All while learning in an environment that allows them the freedom to play and discover. I seriously have the best families, and you are all amazing parents, raising funny, smart, independent, well mannered and compassionate children, which makes me SO excited to watch them grow. 15.01.2022 Were back into the swing of things after a short break. Starting with a little send off party. Yesterday marked the last day of care that our 3 musketeers (as I like to call them) were in together, before the big, exciting leap into school next week. These 3 boys have been incredible friends. And I have been beyond privileged to watch them grow and help guide them, in some small way, through their early years (some from babies). I guess my career choice is a double edge...d sword, because as much as I love seeing them hit milestones as they get older, and laugh uncontrollably at some of their comments and philosophies on life, it tears a little piece of my heart out every time one of my babies leaves. So to have 3 move on to their next stage in life, all at once, certainly brings on the water works for an old softy like me. And as much as I miss the children, I equally miss their beautiful families. So again, here come the tears thinking about that! I just wanted to take an opportunity to declare how immensely grateful I am to all of my families for entrusting me to care for their babies. I am fortunate enough to either have had their siblings before them, after them (and hopefully more in the planning ) in care also. And for the families that have finished their time here, Ill still get to see them in the school yard and sometimes for holiday care too. I absolutely could not go without sharing the beautiful gift I was given yesterday. The moment I saw it, it was like someone had thrown the juice of a thousand onions into my eyeballs! (yesss I cry a LOT but its who I am and a big reason why I chose Family Day Care ... because it is just that .. a family!) I took a photo of the boys walking back into my driveway. They were holding hands, as they always do when were out, as road safety is something Mandy is VERY serious about! I posted that photo on this page, not realising their incredible parents would turn it into a beautiful gift that is now taking pride of place on my wall. 14.01.2022 The Three Musketeers ... Theyve been here with us since they were babies and toddlers. These 3 boys are the sweetest, well mannered and hilarious little souls, who provide constant entertainment. Its so bittersweet to know the day is fast approaching that theyre off to school, and onto their newest adventure. It definitely brings a few tears to the eyes thinking about not having them around. But Im so proud to know that myself, my own three children, and my parents, playe...d a little part in their lives. And I feel extremely privileged that their beautiful families entrusted me with their care. I just hope I can hold it together when its time to say goodbye, so I dont scare them with the tears, like I so often do when one (and worse still, THREE) of my little cherubs moves on. Im thankful to know that Ill still get to watch them grow when I see them at school, have their siblings still with me, and they might even return in the school holidays. 04.01.2022 My apologies for being quiet on the posting front. Life gets hectic for us all ...I had to share a photo of us all off to Mainly Music for the last session of this term. It was come dressed in your winter clothes. Very fitting given the current weather! I just wish I could have got a video of all their shocked faces and giggles when Mandy went missing and was replaced by their new FDC Educator, Hagrid!

03.01.2022 Save the date! This is an annual event that is always popular with families. The kids have a blast, there's great prizes and loads of delicious treats to buy at... the canteen. And parents ...if you'd like, you can just skip (and yes, I'm sure some of you will have a spring in your step) across the road to the oval bar and have a drink, catch up with mates, and buy some tickets in the meat raffle. 02.01.2022 If all of you guys, my amazing friends and family, could PLEASE take a few moments of your time to sign this petition and share the absolute daylights out of it..., Id really appreciate it People power might just have a chance at making the government change this dishonesty. They are not giving FREE CHILDCARE because they are now paying us less than the original tax payer funded CCB ... yet thats mysteriously disappeared as of tonight. Funny that hey? 1.6 billion given to childcare ... why would they mention that its funded through educators taking below minimum wage and we just have to suck it up? Which industry will they decide to do this to next?? There wont be any childcare available soon if this doesnt change because our businesses are now not viable. How is that going to work for all the other employed families to hold onto their jobs? This effects the ENTIRE childcare industry.
