20.01.2022 what a super day ...glorious crisp winters day her...terrific riding by Bec Howard, katie & Kristen today..many thanks to kayla Fairhurst for all you help ...did a great job sprucing Freckles up before the buyer came to view him ! Washed loads of horse rugs today...now kicking back relaxing with a bit of wine time before its time to cook dinner!! Another busy one tomorrow !!

Lots of maintenance jobs being done, planting of some lovely "aggies" along the arena , gearing up for a huge day of lessons on Saturday, then looking forward to seeing the beautiful Monet again on Sunday to see what progress he has made while Ive been away...have a great day everyone !

14.01.2022 DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND....ITS ON AGAIN....OUR ANNUAL DRESSAGE DAY !! We are holding our Annual Associate Dressage Day at Calm Wood Equestrian Centre on Sunday 20th May !!!! Bookings close mid April ...bookings & pre payment ESSENTIAL !!! ... If you would like to compete at this competition please get your entries in early as places fill very fast !! Float parking available on -site ! All enquiries & Entry forms available by emailing Di Holden at [email protected] or calling me on 0422042477. This is a relaxed day, and aimed at people who are wanting to ride a dressage test or two, without the pressure of open competition. We have 6 tests on offer from Preparatory - Novice. The day is suited to beginners/nervous riders/green horses/ and for the Under 10s???....a special Pre Prep test to be ridden independently or led by a parent/adult. Qualified judges, callers allowed, competitors can wear beige / cream/white joddies & a neat polo shirt or full dressage gear. Plaiting horses is not compulsory,,but why not have a go?? Various Merchandise stalls, food & drinks for sale all day long, plus ribbons & awards for all the children competing. Spectators welcome !! Spectator parking available along our quiet street . Hope to see you all here as its a fun day for everyone !!

11.01.2022 Congratulations to kayla eagleson who rode one of our ponies ROJO at the recent HRC Dressage Day ...sadly i was unable to attend due to family circumstances but a very kind friend Yolandi Mcconville was able to assist in this...thanks to Kayla Fairhurst from Diamond Shots for taking some lovely photos of kayla & Rojo at the event...

10.01.2022 Squidgy had hyis bath and glow white treatment on his stumpy little legs today in readiness for our dressage Day ...Hope Liliana & Chantel are ready at the tender age of 3 & 4 for their first competition...love the littlies doing their Pre-Prep tests !!

08.01.2022 Calm Wood Equestrian Centre What a busy busy day for Kayla Eagleson and I today....got through the lessons, washed &trimmed up 4 horses ready for Sunday, did the banking, picked up parcels at the P.O., many thanks to Krysha Vreman for the beautiful gift of Arbonne products...Toby says thank you for his gift too, Kayla got the feeding & rugging done tonight, tidied the wash bay & tie up rails, Now ready for an early night so i can get through lessons tomorrow , then grade t...he dressage arena & warm up area, set up stalls, wash the last horse, braid tails , ...how many hourse are ther in a day ???? Only 2 more sleeps till our Dressage Day.....so much to do...so little time !!!

06.01.2022 I am very pleased to announce the arrival today of my beautiful new gelding Karizmah Monet...a 16.2hh Arabian x Warmblood. Thanks to all the people involved in making my dream a reality. It's a joy to finally own such a lovely horse. Cannot wait to start working with him, and to be able to compete again at Dressage Competitions. There will be many photos of our journey together.

Stunning 16hh 12 year old Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding with a white blaze & 2 white stockings. Currently being professionally schooled by Peter Haynes A sensible horse with a willing & trainable temperament that loves to work. Came back into work after a long spell with no fuss. He has forward movement, with 3 correct paces. He works well alone, or in a group with other horses. Has been taken on limited outings ( due to work/time constraints) , but always well behaved. He requires a confident rider to bring out his best potential. Best suited to ARC, dressage, showing & would suit a confident teenager moving on to their second horse. He is not suited to beginners or nervous riders. He is up to date with vaccinations, farrier, dentist, worming, has had Hendra vaccinations. No known vices. Does not wind suck He loads & travels very well on trucks & floats, alone or with other horses. Vet check welcome. 03.01.2022 is pleased to advise that Leo our school pony has been sold to a lovely home with a family in Sydney who will have him as a fun trail riding pony for one of their children...lucky boy, and Lily has been sold to a lovely new home on Sydney's northern beaches . She was delivered to her new home today & the new owner has already had her first ride, and already in love with her. Very sad to see them both go, BUT...very happy they have both found loving new homes to enjoy !

02.01.2022 sad to say that the Greg Powell Clinic has come & gone far too quickly ....but on the upside...what a wonderful weekend it was. Many thanks to Greg for coming to Sydney to run this clinic. Riders & horses did very well, our band of merry Calmwood Equestrian centre helpers kept the hungry hordes of riders & spectators well fed & watered....by the end of Day 2, we all went home, tired, ubt pleased with what we had all learned over the 2 days. All I can say is that if you get a...n opportunity to attend one of Greg Powell's clinics, do make the time, & learn as much as you can because he is an amazing horseman, very inspiring & entertaining , and comes to you with a wealth of wonderful information. Thanks to everyone who attended this clinic. Hopefully there will be more clinics with Greg Powell in the future !!
